VOLUNTEER TODAY!
Volunteering offers assistance to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, therefore transforming both the lives of the people who volunteer and those who benefit.

“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of
their way to make life beautiful for others.” - Mandy Hale

As part of the volunteer recruitment process, we require your Volunteer Form and a Criminal Record Check (for volunteers 18 years of age and older) be conducted as part of the screening process. Volunteers are required to reaffirm their interest in volunteering for events every 24 months. Did You Know?
Blackfalds has a Health Professional Attraction & Retention Committee. This group of community members works with individuals from Town Council and Administration and health service agencies to develop attraction and recruitment strategies for health care professionals.
What Does this Group Do?
Committee members will attend meetings as needed and participate in varied activities that correspond with their interests and abilities. Some of the Committee initiatives include promoting health provider opportunities in Blackfalds, hosting community tours, building relationships with community health providers and organizing appreciation activities, and providing support for their families.

Want to Help?
Many hands make light work and robust and diverse community representation on this Committee is welcome! In particular, residents who are seniors, well-connected to the local business community, newcomers to town, or who have a young family are invited to contact cjohnson@blackfalds.ca or 403.885.6246 for more information.
Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region Society is a non-profit organization working towards a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity will soon be starting their build in Blackfalds and may have some volunteer opportunities, but those are dependent on weather and the construction tasks that are happening any given week.

The organization relies heavily on the support of volunteers, donors and local communities to build simple, decent and affordable houses with Habitat families. Minimum age to volunteer at the build site is 16.
For those that don’t know, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donations of new and used building materials/home furnishings and sells them at a reduced price to the public, with the funds supporting their operational and construction costs.

The ReStore is looking for volunteers! Full or half-day shifts available, Monday-Saturday, and can be a variety of tasks in the store. Minimum age to volunteer at the store is 16.

To sign up to volunteer, go to our website and click 'Volunteer' to get started.
