Fun at the Fair

Last Call for Farm Day

If you've been thinking about being a part of this wonderful event - don't wait any longer! On September 18th, Nevada County Ag in the Classroom will host their annual Farm Day at the County Fairgrounds. This special experience gives Nevada County 2nd & 3rd graders the opportunity to become familiar with nearly all facets of agriculture! Prescribed Fire Workshops and Demos

We are thrilled to be welcoming Jennifer Rain Crosby to the NCRCD team to support the Prescribed Fire education program returning this fall. The program is the first of its kind funded by the U.S. Department of Forestry and lead by state-certified burn boss (CARX), retired U.S. Forester and NCRCD board member Jo Ann Fites-Kaufman. Working Lands III

Filming is underway for a new installment of the Working Lands series produced by NCRCD. Working Lands III will celebrate the history and legacy of Timber production in Nevada County, as well as share perspectives on the future of the industry. The film is expected to be released in early 2025, more details to come.
