THE CITY OF PORT WENTWORTH HELD 51ST ANNUAL 'STAND UP FOR AMERICA DAY'


On April 27, the City of Port Wentworth held their 51st annual Stand up for America Day Festival and Parade with live music, food and lots of family-friendly fun. The event gathered the community to honor America's service men and women, past and present!

COASTAL HERITAGE SOCIETY RECEIVED $15,000 GRANT FROM GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE TO SUPPORT FIRST-GRADE STUDENT FIELD TRIPS 


Coastal Heritage Society (CHS) received a $15,000 grant from Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation to support field trips for first-grade students who attend Savannah-Chatham County Public School System Title I schools. CHS has served approximately 1,500 first-grade students every year since 2015 and hopes to expand the program through its new CHS All In initiative. 

GEORGIA TECH-SAVANNAH HELD NEW SPRING BREAK CEISMC "STEAMBREAK" PROGRAM


Georgia Tech-Savannah held its spring break program for students in first through fifth grades, ‘STEAMbreak,’ during the week of April 1-5, 2024. The week-long day camp program was held each day at the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus.  

MARYS PLACE OF THE COASTAL EMPIRE HOSTED AN EXTENSIVE LINEUP OF EVENTS DURING APRIL’S SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH


Mary’s Place of the Coastal Empire hosted an impressive lineup of community events and initiatives as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month during April, including Jeans for Justice, a Solidarity Walk, Responder's Summit and Lip Sync Competition. We had a wonderful time!

PORT WENTWORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTED COFFEE CONNECTIONS


The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce hosted their very first Coffee Connections on April 9 at City Hall as an opportunity for the community to begin the morning with insightful conversations, networking, and guest speakers.

COASTAL HERITAGE SOCIETY HOSTED ANNUAL BUG FEST


On April 20, Coastal Heritage Society hosted Bug Fest 2024, the annual family-friendly celebration buzzing with bug-themed crafts, activities, and workshops. During the celebration, Savannah Children's Museum educators delivered exciting programs, such as the eat-a-bug club, insect activities, and many other creepy-crawly programming throughout the day.

SAVANNAH CHALLENGER HELD USTA PRO CIRCUIT EVENT


The 2024 Savannah Challenger held the premiere professional tennis event during the week of April 22-28 at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club on Skidaway Island. After a week full of competitive tennis, Alexander Ritschard secured his 2024 Savannah Challenger champion title!

THE PORT WENTWORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTED 16TH ANNUAL SAVANNAH RIVER SPRING CLASSIC BASS FISHING TOURNAMENT


The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce hosted the 16th annual Savannah River Spring Classic bass fishing tournament on April 27. The event started with a captain’s dinner on April 26, followed by the fishing tournament on April 27. Congratulations to all winners!

PORT WENTWORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOLD BUSINESS AFTER HOURS – MAY 14


The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce will host its Business After Hours event from 5:30-7:30pm on Tuesday, May 14 at Wentworth Park in Port Wentworth, Georgia. This event will provide businesses and community members an opportunity to network and socialize in a relaxed atmosphere after the regular working day.

THE 200 CLUB TO HOLD 2024 SAVANNAH MILE – MAY 18


The 200 Club is set to hold the 2024 Savannah Mile on Saturday, May 18, as part of National Law Enforcement Week. The one-mile course, beginning at the south end of Forsyth Park, will take participants down Drayton Street and finish up on Broughton Street. The race will feature six unique heats for all ages and abilities, including the "Memory Walk" and "Heroes Heat". All proceeds benefit the families of our Fallen First Responders that the 200 Club proudly serves.
