The Holidays are here and it's certainly going to be one for the books. As we all look ahead to the next couple of months and plan our celebrations, we may be faced with new obstacles but one thing stays the same...it's time to be with family, both in person and virtually. As we gather, even in the smallest of groups, we can we take comfort in preparing meals and eating foods that remind of who we are; and where we came from. At our farms, we take these times very seriously and we strive to bring a product to your table that represents all of those things. It might be turkey on Thanksgiving, but our fish is a wonderful, healthy and wholesome addition to this holiday's menu.

Responsible Approach for the Environment

Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) states that over 70% of the world's wild fish stock is fully exploited. With numbers like that it is not hard to see why aquaculture is on the rise. Great Falls Aquaculture is one of the largest and longest running commercial recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in the United States. The focus is to provide a cleaner, premium fish in a more environment friendly manner using our proprietary state-of-the-art technology.  Our systems are designed to mimic the natural environmental in a manner that is less stressful to the fish while promoting excellent growth. We can consistently provide a high quality product year around, that has the flavor and texture profiles you come to expect from a premium white fish.

Our story is one thing that sets us apart in the world of aquaculture. Innovation and engineering are equally as important as ambition and experience at our farms. We would like to provide you with a glimpse into the world of Blue Stream Aquaculture, including an insider’s perspective of our locations and our team.......

Blue Stream Cape Cod is one of the oldest continually run hatcheries in Massachusetts, dating back to the 1850s. The historical significance of this property, as detailed by the Massachusetts Historical Commission, “represents attempts by early settlers to start small industries using local resources”. We are carrying on this legacy, as we take part in the locally grown initiative.

One Word...Traceability!

All of our trout are currently spawned on-site at Blue Stream's Cape Cod farm location. We spawn twice a year during natural spawning season using only our best broodstock. We do not use hormones or hormone injected foods to induce spawning. We simply care for our trout using the best top quality feeds, pristine water and ensure ideal living conditions.
