Ford Lightning Range Increases
The Ford F150 “Lightning” with the XLT and Lariat trims is not EPA rated at 320 miles, and the Platinum is now rated at 300 miles. Ford has also completed extreme cold testing in Alaska and boasts significantly improved snow and ice traction due to coordination of the two motors.

Cobalt Prices Spike
Most of the cobalt, essential for the production of lithium ion batteries, comes from the Congo and is controlled by China, and has spiked from $10/lb to close to $40/lb, significantly increasing the base price of EVs.

USPS Orders 10,000 EVs
The US Postal Service has placed a$3B order with Oskosh for 50,000 delivery vehicles. A minimum of 10,000 of these Next Generation Delivery Vehicles (NGDV) will be EVs. The NGDVs will be equipped with air conditioning, 360 degree cameras, collision avoidance systems, increased cargo capacity and other improvements over existing delivery vehicles.

Charging Speeds Jumping Quickly
IDTech forecasts that by 2032, there will be a 44% increase in the market share of DCFC over 100kW, and they report that OEMs are working to achieve charging rates of 3C (with 1C being the power required to completely charge a battery pack in one hour).

BP & Neste Supplying DHL with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
BP and Neste have signed agreements with DHL and will provide a combined 800 million liters (211 million gallons) of SAF to DHL over the next four years.

The Renewable Energy Group (REG) has created the brand name “EnDura Fuels” for a package of bio and renewable fuels. The EnDura package includes “InfinD” a high quality biodiesel, “PuriD” a next generation biodiesel, “VelociD” a renewable diesel, “BlenD” a blend of “VelociD” and “PuriD”, and “BeyonD” a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
