Grant Opportunities
HVIP Reopens
The HVIP Program will re-open at 10 a.m, March 30, 2022. Additionally, the following set-aside funds will also become available at the same time.
  • $65.5 million for public transit buses
  • $46 million for Class 8 tractors performing drayage operations
  • $122 million for the Public School Bus Set-Aside for Small and Medium Air Districts
  • School bus requests ineligible for the set-aside will be funded out of standard HVIP

The California Hydrogen Leadership Summit will bring leaders in energy, transportation, academia and government to review the role hydrogen will play in implementing climate change, air quality, energy diversity and conservation policies. Job Opening: Executive Director for the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation
The US Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has listed the position of Executive Director for the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation that will oversee the deployment of $7.5 billion to build out a national electric vehicle (EV) charging network. The listing is open until 3/21/22 and has a salary range of $178K - $204K. 
Chevron's Renewable Fuel Investments
Chevron has purchased REG, the largest producer of renewable fuels, including renewable diesel, in the US. Chevron’s goal is to increase production capacity to 100,000 barrels per day by 2030. Chevron has also invested in Raven SR, a company with a non-combustion waste-to-hydrogen production technology. Raven currently has two facilities under construction in Northern California.

CARB MD/HD Costs and Funding Workgroup
CARB will be holding two workgroup meetings on 2/22/22 and 3/10/22 from 8:30 - 2:00 to review costs and funding for MD/HD electric vehicles relative to electricity and the grid. Individuals interested in participating in the workgroup meetings need to complete an application form.

Chevron Expanding Hydrogen Stations
Chevron has announced that they will build 30 hydrogen fueling sites at existing Chevron stations in California. They will partner with Iwatani to maintain and operate the stations and supply the most of the hydrogen. Chevron will supply some hydrogen from their Richmone refinery and from other planned production sites in Northern California.

Toyota has announced that they will include one-year of free charging at EVgo chargers with the purchase of their bZ4X EVs. EVgo has a network of over 800 chargers using 100% renewable electricity.
