11/7 - Trucking with Clean Fuels
  • Project Clean Air is hosting "Trucking with Clean Fuels" with detailed information about natural gas as a transportation fuel as well as incentives and project opportunities. The conference will be held at the Fresno Fairgrounds in the Gem and Mineral Building from 9:30-2:30. The event is free, but registration is requested.

1/22 - Renewable Gas 360
  • The Renewable Gas 360 (formerly Rethink Methane) conference will be held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento. Topics will include building markets for dead trees to reduce wildfire risk, building markets for renewable hydrogen, reducing short-lived climate pollutants, managing overburdened landfills and methane capture.

4/13 - Green Technology Summit and Expo
  • The 2020 Green Technology Summit and Expo will be held in the Tacoma Convention Center on April 13 – 15. This year’s event will be combined with the US EPA’s West Coast Collaborative Partner’s Meeting, and will include fleet focused sessions on technician training, regulatory policies, vehicle, engine and fuel technology developments, and the future of mobility.

GM, Toyota, and Fiat Chrysler have joined the Administration opposing California's authority to set emission standards that are different from federal standards. Ford, Honda, and BMW oppose this move by the Administration.

Hyundai Concept Fuel Cell Semi
Hyundai is planning a "Clean Sheet" design for a zero-emission fuel cell semi. Dubbed the "Neptune" their HDC-6 will join the Nikola semi as "Clean Sheet" designs, and a more traditional tractor design from Kensworth/Toyota.

For the week ending 10/25/19, refineries in California produced 341,880 gallons of gasoline and 124,446 gallons of diesel.

CARB Biodiesel Product Alert
The California Air Resources Board has issued a "Product Alert" relating to biodiesel blends greater than B5. Testing has shown that additives being used to bring the fuel into compliance with regulatory emission requirements are not performing as required. Biodiesel suppliers may continue to biodiesel with non-compliant additives as they transition to additives that meet specifications.

California Rebate Changes
EV Rebates in California have been cut back, with luxury EVs dropped from eligibility and plug-in hybrids dropped unless they have at least 50 miles of battery-only range.

Cummins Fuel Cell Concept Truck
Cummins unveiled their first demonstration fuel cell truck at the North America Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta in October. Cummins recently purchased Hydrogenics, a fuel cell manufacturer.
