New CARB Regulation
The California Air Resources Board has passed two regulations that will have a significant impact on MD/HD fleets. 

The Advanced Clean Truck regulation (ACT) will mandate that all MD/HD vehicles sold in California must have zero tailpipe emissions by 2045. Reporting and compliance schedules will be developed beginning in 2021.

The “Omnibus Low-NOx Rule” will require trucks sold starting in 2024 to have NOx emissions 75% below the current standard, and 90% below by 2027. The regulation also includes a mandatory 50% reduction in PM and other regulatory emission requirements.

City of Fairfield Selling Solar Message Board
The City of Fairfield Fleet Management Division, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition partner, is selling a nearly-new solar message board (Solartech model MB3-LR-1548). They have been authorized to sell it at fair market value, but may only sell it to another government agency. Cummins Hydrogen Fuel Cell Disaster Relief Truck
Cummins, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor, has been awarded $1M by the US DOE, the DOD and the Department of Homeland Security to develop a hydrogen fuel cell disaster relief truck capable of supplying power, heat and water.

Lightning Systems Delivers Zero-Emission Ford Transit to California Maritime Academy
Lightning Systems, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor, has delivered a zero-emission 10 passenger Ford Transit 350HD to the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo. The van is equipped with a 86kWh battery pack, and has an operational range of 137 miles on a 3 hour charge.

Mack LR Battery Electric Refuse Truck Orders Open
Volvo/Mack announced that they will begin taking orders for their Mack LR battery electric refuse truck in Q4 of 2020 with deliveries scheduled for 2021. The Mack dealer in Sacramento is Western Truck Center, 1925 Enterprise Blvd. in West Sacramento (916) 375-3040.

Cadillac's Electric Future
GM has announced that the 880 Cadillac dealerships in the US will be installing EVSE as GM invests $20B on electric and autonomous technologies and moves to introduce at least 20 new electric models across the entire GM brand by 2023.

Daimler Hydrogen Fuel Cell Semi
Daimler has announced that they will begin customer field trials of their hydrogen fuel cell semi truck in 2023, with plans for full scale commercial deployment on or after 2025. Their fuel cell truck is designed to have a 600 mile range. Daimler plans to launch two battery electric trucks, the eActros short haul (2021) and the eActros long-haul (2024).

Rivian Electric Pickup Towing Capabilities
Rivian demonstrated the R1T pickup truck by towing an 11,000 trailer up a 3,000 foot, 17 mile grade in 118 degree Death Valley heat. The truck’s 400 mile range was reduced by 50% making this run.

Refineries Report
For the week ending 9/11/20, refineries in California produced 280,644 gallons of gasoline and 99,540 gallons of diesel. Gasoline production increased by 6.3% and diesel production decreased by 4.6% percent from last week’s production numbers. The 9/14/20 wholesale spot price of propane on the Mont Belvieu Texas board was 48.3¢ per gallon.
