An Eldorado National Fuel Cell Bus from Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA), an Ohio transit agency with one of the largest fleets of zero-emission fuel cell buses and fuel cell paratransit vehicles in the US, will be in Sacramento and Yolo on June 9. STARK CEO, Kirk Conrad, a nationally recognized transit fleet manager, has created a special “Borrow a Bus” program that has put one of his fleet of fuel cell buses on a national tour to raise awareness of the range, rapid refueling and low lifetime TCO of heavy-duty fuel cell vehicles. CARB Advanced Clean Cars 2 Regulations
|
|
CARB’s “Advanced Clean Cars II” Regulations will include a mandatory lifetime power level warranty. BEVs would be required to maintain 80% of their certified range for 15 years or 150 miles, and fuel cell vehicles would be required to maintain 90% of their certified power for 4,000 hours of operation.

North County Transit District Transitions to Zero-Emission Bus Operations

|
The North County Transit District in Oceanside, California will be implementing a hydrogen fueling station capable of supporting 50 zero-emission fuel cell buses. The expected completion date of their infrastructure will be mid-2022 and they expect to have 25 fuel cell buses by Spring, 2025.

Waymo Autonomous Vehicles

Waymo, funded by Google’s parent company, Alphabet, and a few of the major auto companies, are the only companies that can afford to stay in pursuit of fully autonomous driving. After years of promises, everything from pollen to soap bubbles has stumped the robots. Uber, Lyft and others have dropped out of the bottomless pit of funding necessary to achieve Autonomous Level 5.
