SMUD New Program: Charging as a Service
|
|
SMUD is offering a new program, “Charging as a Service” (CaaS) that provides commercial electric vehicle advisory services, including technical evaluation and cost estimates, electrical engineering/design and construction services, as well as network and hardware options, full maintenance of charging systems, and financing options.
|
|
PG&E is providing rebates up to $15.5K for dual-port Level 2 charging stations at schools and state parks. You may also be able to combine this with the 30% Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Equipment credit to save even more!

Sac Metro Air District Accepting Applications for Supplemental Environmental Impact Program
|
|
The Sac Metro Air District is now accepting applications for their Supplemental Environmental Impact Program. Up to $140,000 will be available in this round of funding, which closes on July 30. Eligible Projects must be in a District Priority Community. Eligible projects include:
- Air Pollution Prevention or Reduction:
- Air Quality Related Education or Compliance Training:
- Community Air Monitoring:
- Environmental Restoration and Protection:
- Projects considered on a case-by-case basis if there is a demonstrated substantial health or environmental benefit and are consistent with the District SEP Policy.

David Renschler, Fleet Manager at the City of Fairfield and Chair of the MEMA Regulations Committee, has notified fleet managers about the latest developments with the Advanced Clean Fleet Rule (ACF) being developed by CARB. Mr. Renschler will deliver an update on this and other regulations affecting fleets at the NorCal Fleet Academy and Expo, October 6&7 in Sacramento.

Tesla Model S Without a Steering Wheel

Tesla has begun delivering vehicles with steering “Yokes” instead of steering wheels. At least 25 of Tesla “Plaid” trim level Model S sedans have been delivered with steering yokes. The NHTS Administration was taken by surprise because they had previously released a statement saying that they, “..."cannot determine if the steering wheel meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard."
