Clean Truck Check Announcement
  • CARB is now using Roadside Emissions Monitoring Devices (REMD) throughout California
  • These devices use remote sensing to screen for potential high emitting vehicles
  • Potential High Emitting Vehicles will be issued a Notice to Submit to Testing (NST)
  • Vehicle owners will have 30 days to submit a passing emissions test to CARB
  • Failure to submit a passing test may result in an enforcement violation

The EPA has announced a new review of the Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) to ensure the standards reflect the most current, relevant science and protect people’s health from these harmful pollutants.

Yosemite Clean Energy Receives CEC Grant
Yosemite Clean Energy has received a $5M grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) to support their hydrogen production plant in Oroville. Using forest biomass, this facility will begin producing negative carbon “green” hydrogen in Q1 of 2026.

NASA is working with Lockheed Martin’s subsidiary Sikorsky to develop software that would manage self-flying “Taxis” that would make passenger and freight transport easier in high-density areas.

Newly Discovered Enzyme Speeds Biofuel Production
A newly discovered enzyme can convert biomass to biofuels at ambient temperatures versus what has traditionally required high temperature & high pressure using cobalt, platinum, nickel & palladium metallic catalysts, allowing more efficient and less expensive production of biofuels.

CATL's Super-Fast Battery Chemistry
CATL has announced a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that they say can load ~65kWh in 10 minutes at room temperature.

EVSE Reliability Questioned
A recent study by J.D. Power indicates that 20% of vehicle charging efforts are unsuccessful. Failure rates varied by area with parts of Florida at 35%, Seattle, Denver and Austin at 29% and Cleveland at 12%.

Pyka Approved for "Uncrewed" ZEV Aircraft Operations
Electric aircraft company Pyka has received FAA approval to commercially operate their 1,125 pound crop sprayer aircraft with no crew on board.

Amazon Invests in Moxion Power
Amazon is using Moxion Power’s trailer-mounted battery to silently power their film and TV sets as part of their $2B “Climate Pledge” to lower their carbon footprint. When fully charged, the Moxion trailer-mounted battery has 520kWh of usable energy exportable at 480v, 208v and 240v.
