DOE Fuel 2023 Fuel Economy Guide
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have just released the 2023 Fuel Economy Guide. The Guide provides detailed fuel economy estimates for model year 2023 light-duty vehicles, along with estimated annual fuel costs and other information for prospective car buyers.

DOE Report - Built in America
In 2021, 73% of all plug-in vehicles on the road were assembled in North America, with 65% of them built in the United States. Japan was a distant second at 12%, followed by Germany at 6%.

Richard Battersby Honored
Richard Battersby, Director of East Bay Clean Cities Coalition and Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of Oakland, received the prestigious “Benjamin Watson Award” at the National Clean Cities Coalition Conference, held November 15 - 17 in Denver. Mr. Battersby received the award by a vote of his peers around the US, in recognition of his willingness to share his expertise, and always in a spirit of openness and humor. 
Toyota Prius HEV & Prius Prime PHEV Boost MPG and EV Miles
The 2023 Toyota Prius Hybrid will have improved efficiency (57 mpg vs 52 last year), while the Prius Prime Plug-in Hybrid will have more EV miles (38 EV miles vs 25 miles last year).

Domino's Bolt EV Delivery Vehicles
Domino’s is taking delivery of the first 100 of a planned 855 Bolt EVs in 2023 with a commitment to electrify their entire delivery fleet.

HVIP Funding Approved
On November 17, 2022, the California Air Resources Board approved the FY22-23 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives, which includes policy changes and an allocation of over $1.7 billion to be administered by the Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). 
VinFast EV Sales Starting Soon
VinFast, a Vietnamese automaker, sent their first shipment of EVs to California, leaving Vietnam on November 25, with sales expected to begin in mid-December. The company makes a sedan, the VF8, and an SUV, the VF9. One of their first major customers will be 2,500 sales to Autonomy, a subscription EV company. VinFast has dealerships in Santa Monica, City of Commerce, San Diego, San Mateo and Corte Madera, with plans for dealerships in Berkeley, Irvine and Canoga Park.

Caterpillar Electric Mining Truck
Caterpillar is piloting battery-electric mining trucks. At the Cat proving grounds in Arizona, they are demonstrating a Cat 793, a haul truck made for open pit mining operations where energy used climbing out of the mine can be partially recovered with regenerative braking as the truck goes back down. The Cat 793 has a rated payload of 256 tons and the conventional unit uses a 2,650hp engine.

Senator Blumenthal says, "Biodiesel has to be part of our energy future."
When Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal toured American Green Fuels’ biodiesel production facility last month, he said he will support tax credits and other programs to continue to support biodiesel as an essential part of US energy policy going forward.
