Human Powered Transportation Has Dramatically Grown
Micromobility (partially or fully human powered transportation like scooters, bicycles and e-bikes) have dramatically grown in popularity. Trips on scooters more than doubled from 2018 to 2019 while bike trips increased by 3% and e-bike trips increased 54%.

SACOG's Regional Fuel Agreements
SACOG’s Regional Fuel Agreements have now been available to cities, counties and special districts in the Sacramento Region for one year. These contracts provide access at low contract fleet pricing to eight fuels and lubricants including: Unleaded Gasoline, Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel, Renewable Diesel, Red-Dyed [i.e. off-road] Diesel, Ethanol, Propane, Various Lubricants and Cardlock Fueling.

The Trucking Industry is Concerned About State ZEV Mandates
The trucking industry is concerned about the state’s mandates to move to 100% ZEV technologies, and is pointing out that engines running on Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) can have extraordinarily low emissions and net-negative GHG, and that Renewable Hydrogen can be made from RNG and can power ZEVs using fuel cells.

Recent Massachusetts Law Requires Auto Companies to Open Up About Telematics
Right to Data Law: A recent law passed in Massachusetts will require all auto companies to use an open standard for all telematics and wirelessly transmitted data by 2022. This data sharing mandate is not popular with EV manufacturers who prefer to keep operational and repair data proprietary.

EV Conversion Kit for Classic Cooper Mini
Swindon Powertrain, a British company, makes an EV conversion kit for the original “classic” Cooper Mini.The basic kit costs $11K and includes the motor, mounting and suspension components. If you don’t have your own battery pack, motor controller and charger, a complete conversion kit is about $40K. If you have to buy the Mini as well, you’ll be looking at a $60K EV, even more if you have to pay someone to do the conversion.

Daimler and Volvo Form Partnership To Develop Fuel Cell Powertrains
Daimler and Volvo have formed a partnership to develop fuel cell powertrains for heavy-duty trucks and backup generators. They expect to have demonstration vehicles in service by 2023 and be in commercial production by 2025

Refineries Report
California Refineries: For the week ending 10/30/20, refineries in California produced 5,772 barrels of gasoline and 2,182 barrels of diesel. Gasoline production was down by 3.2% and diesel production was up by 28.1% from last week’s production numbers. The 11/2/20 wholesale spot price of propane on the Mont Belvieu Texas board was 54.9¢ per gallon, up 3.7% from the 10/26/20 spot price.
