- Transition the nation’s transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy efficient transit vehicles
- Grant Applications due by 4/13/23

EPA EJ Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) Cooperative Agreement Program
|
|
- Projects that address environmental and public health issues within an affected community;
- Assist recipients building partnerships to address environmental and public health concerns;
- $25,000,000 for up to 50 awards to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) proposing projects for up to $500,000 each.
- $5,000,000 for up to 33 awards to qualifying small CBOs with 5 or fewer full-time employees proposing projects for up to $150,000 each;
- Applications due April 10.

EPA Environmental Justice Government-to-Government (EJG2G) Program
|
|
- Projects that transform under-served communities into healthy, thriving communities;
- Funding for governmental and tribal entities;
- Support activities that lead to measurable environmental or public health results in disproportionately burdened communities;
- $20,000,000 for up to 20 awards for States partnering with Community Based Organizations (CBOs);
- $20,000,000 for up to 20 awards for tribal governments partnering with CBOs;
- $20,000,000 for up to 20 awards for local governments partnering with CBOs;
- $10,000,000 for up to 10 awards for U.S. Territories, Freely Associated States, Puerto Rico, and tribes in remote areas;
- Applications are due April 10.

BP Acquiring Travel Centers of America
|
|
BP is acquiring the trio of Travel Center companies that includes TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express. Travel Centers of America operates one of the largest full-service travel center networks in the US. Nikola and TA have entered into an agreement to develop several hydrogen fueling facilities at Travel Center facilities.

Nikola Delivers Nissan EVs
|
|
Nissan is using Nikola’s Class 8 battery-electric trucks to deliver their EVs from the Port of Los Angeles to dealerships. Nissan is also using some Kenworth battery-electric trucks.

Zero GHG "Low Energy Nuclear Reactions" (LENR)
|
|
The U.S. DOE has awarded $10 million to eight LENR projects (universities, a national laboratory, and a small business) working to develop this potentially transformative carbon-free energy source.

Viatec SmartPTO Saves Fuel
|
|
Duke Energy has installed Viatec ePTO systems across their aerial lift fleet to eliminate the need for trucks to run their engines at job sites to power the lifts and provide cabin air conditioning. Eliminating extended engine operations at job sites improves crew communications, reduces complaints from residents, saves fuel and reduces emissions.

GoGreen "IDLE FREE" Implemented in Raleigh
|
|
GoGreen’s “IDLE FREE” program that helps drivers learn driving strategies to reduce idling emissions is being piloted by the City of Raleigh, North Carolina. Raleigh’s Climate Action Plan is targeting an 80% reduction in GHG from 2007 levels by 2050.

Lordstown Endurance Pickup Truck Recall
|
|
Lordstown Motors has announced that they have identified, “...performance and quality issues…” with some of the components in their Endurance EV Pickup Truck. They have stopped production customer deliveries and they have filed paperwork with the NHTSA to announce a voluntary recall.

HevenDrones has developed a hydrogen-powered drone that has 5X greater energy efficiency than a battery-powered drone of equivalent size.
