|
The City of Elk Grove has issued an RFP for a consultant to do a Fleet Electrification Infrastructure Plan.

SMUD’ Charge@Home incentive program began on December 8 and lasts until February 28, 2022. SMUD residential customers who have purchased or leased a new or used EV may quality for up to $500 for the purchase of a Level 2 charger and up to $500 for installation by a licensed electrician.

|
Matheson Truck Fleet Companies, based in Sacramento, has maintained a very high level of freight and postal freight transportation service at very low emission levels and net-negative GHG levels using Renewable Natural Gas.

Toyota Solid State Batteries |
|
Toyota has announced plans to use solid state batteries in plug-in hybrid cars beginning in 2025. They are starting with hybrids because smaller battery packs have a smaller impact on vehicle cost, and because hybrids have tougher duty cycles with more charge/discharge cycles.

Chevy EV Silverado Revealed |
|
Chevy revealed their EV Silverado at CES in Las Vegas, indicating the first models will be higher-end trucks with 400 miles of range, and base models coming later with 200 miles of range and starting at $39,900. The truck is expected to be able to charge at up to 350kW on an 800 volt internal power system.

GM Accepts California Emissions |
|
GM has agreed to accept the emission standards established by California, making their vehicles eligible to be purchased by state agencies and making it possible for other government agencies that use the “State Bid” to purchase GM vehicles.

California State University, Chico, has put a Dulevo International D-Zero2 ZEV street sweeper into service keeping campus streets and walkways swept, free of leaves and debris.

Long-time Fleet Managers David Renschler (Fairfield) and Doug Bond (Alameda) spoke at “Fleet Forward” in November, and pointed out issues to be addressed including confirming vehicle/charger compatibility, dedicated or shared EVSE, fleet mix and power demands, current vehicle specs versus specs of available ZEVs, and many more items.

The North American Council on Freight Efficiency’s “Run on Less - Electric Truck Report” showed that for four market segments — vans and step vans, medium-duty box trucks, terminal tractors and heavy-duty regional haul tractors — are a viable option for BEVs.
