Toyota Solid State Batteries
Toyota has announced plans to use solid state batteries in plug-in hybrid cars beginning in 2025. They are starting with hybrids because smaller battery packs have a smaller impact on vehicle cost, and because hybrids have tougher duty cycles with more charge/discharge cycles.

Chevy EV Silverado Revealed
Chevy revealed their EV Silverado at CES in Las Vegas, indicating the first models will be higher-end trucks with 400 miles of range, and base models coming later with 200 miles of range and starting at $39,900. The truck is expected to be able to charge at up to 350kW on an 800 volt internal power system.

GM has agreed to accept the emission standards established by California, making their vehicles eligible to be purchased by state agencies and making it possible for other government agencies that use the “State Bid” to purchase GM vehicles.
