The United Way of Passaic County Launched the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund

In the aftermath of the recent floods that have wreaked havoc across Passaic County, the United Way launched the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund to raise funds to meet critical community needs. The United Way of Passaic County partners with Catholic Family and Community Services to provide disaster case management and administer financial assistance to flood victims.  


Join Us in Making an Impact: The United Way of Passaic County urges individuals, businesses, and organizations to stand together in solidarity with our community. Your support is pivotal in providing relief and contributing to the broader recovery efforts.

State of the Food Symposium


The United Way of Passaic County CEO Mary Celis presented at the New Jersey State of the Food Symposium to share about Passaic County Food Policy Council's work. The mission of the Passaic County Food Policy Council is to end hunger by addressing the root causes of food insecurity in Passaic County. The council brings together partners from across the food system, and advocates for policies and practices that make healthy food more affordable, accessible, and available to Passaic County residents.

Reading Buddies


United Way of Passaic County works to improve literacy for children struggling to read in the earliest years of school. .


Volunteer tutors are needed for one-on-one tutoring sessions. Volunteers will receive orientation and training, and weekly support from school staff and teachers. Anyone with passion and commitment can help a young person achieve greater academic success!

Scholarship Awardee Spotlight

We're happy to share the exciting news that Olivia Gray has been honored by Assemblyman Gary Schaer with a State Proclamation, recognizing her outstanding achievements! Olivia, a recipient of the United Way's Future Teacher Scholarship, is studying early education at Spelman College, paving the way for a future as a dedicated educator and advocate for all children. A heartfelt thank you to our generous scholarship donors who make dreams like Olivia's a reality!

Thank you to Visions Federal Union for partnering with the United Way of Passaic County in sponsoring the Clifton Cares Veteran's Day Care Package Drive. Volunteers gathered to pack care packages for our military heroes overseas to show love and appreciation for our troops who were far from home over the holidays.

Financial Empowerment

Free Income Tax Assistance - Book Your Appointment


United Way of Passaic County's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program supports financial stability by allowing taxpayers to keep the full amount of their return.  UWPC has operated the VITA program for over a decade, in that time the program has completed 9,671 tax returns resulting in over $10.7 million in Federal refunds for low-income families and individuals. In addition, the program has saved clients an estimated S1.7 million in filing fees creating a total $12.4 million in economic impact for Passaic County.
