The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its May Membership meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Truluck’s Restaurant in Rosemont, IL.
As May was Mental Health Awareness Month, the session focused on Mental Health issues (Construction-focus). "How to Access the Benefits of the Employee Resource Systems (ERS)" was discussed. The ERS presentation concerned a number of topic areas: Family & Relationships, Financial & Legal, Career & Professional, Home & Living, Health & Well-Being, Education & Learning.

Young Professionals Pinstripes Event | |
On Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Young Professionals of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) were proud to host the second YP Event for 2024 at Pinstripes in Oakbrook, IL.
As this was a networking event, attendees had a wonderful time getting to know fellow industry peers while enjoying bowling and Bocce. The evening was filled with engaging conversations and valuable connections, highlighting the importance of community within our industry. We're excited for future gatherings and the continued success of our Young Professionals group.

The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) had the pleasure of participating in and sponsoring the 4th annual Cowboy Shootout on May 16, 2024, at the Halter Wildlife Inc. This annual event supports the Well Resource Center, a vital organization that assists first responders and their families on the Northwest side of Chicago by providing safe and trusted environments of community support.
The Cowboy Shootout was an action-packed day featuring a series of competitions designed to test the participants' marksmanship, speed, and agility.

The Chicago Building Congress (CBC) held its Annual Merit Awards Program on Thursday, May 9, 2024. The evening event was held at Morton Manufacturing in Chicago, IL. Powering Chicago was a Platinum Sponsor for the event. A number of ECA member firms were in the running for the 10 categories of recently completed projects. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!

The Illinois Mechanical Special Contractors Association (IMSCA) held its 2024 Lobby Day on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Springfield, IL. The Lobby Day activities began at the Statehouse Inn and included an IMSCA Board meeting – all attendees were encouraged to participate in this session. The overall program featured a review of the legislative issues to be discussed with the legislators, as well as a guest presentation by Tim Patrick, Construction Administrator of the Illinois Capital Development Board.

2024 Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago | |
The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) was proud to sponsor and participate in Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago for National Rebuilding Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
National Rebuilding Day: This is the visible culmination of this home repair program and occurs annually around the last Saturday in April. Teams of volunteers mobilize to work in partnership with the community to repair homes and improve neighborhoods of local residents so they may continue to live in warmth, safety, and independence.
