ECAPAC Voluntary Contribution Through ECA Dues Form

We need your assistance!

The ECAPAC fund was established to assist the Association with contributions to legislators and political fundraising events, among other activities. The ECAPAC enables the association to have a voice in local and state issues affecting electrical construction.

As a reminder, your firm is allowed to contribute to the ECAPAC a maximum of 2% of your dues payment each month. No payment of additional dues are required for this activity.

You can designate that 2%-dollar amount on the ECA Dues Form or any amount you choose as long as it does not exceed the 2% amount for that month.  If your contribution is $150.00 or more, state law requires that ECA submits your company name and mailing address within the ECAPAC Reporting Documents with the Illinois State Board of Elections. Also, the ECA reports a combined amount of member contributions (those whose contribution numbers are under $150.00) each quarter with the State Board of Elections.

All contributions are voluntary. Also, please be aware that a contribution to the ECAPAC will not affect a contractor’s eligibility to bid on State work, in this instance, contractors are not directly contributing to a candidate’s campaign, i.e., the Governor’s race, etc.

We do hope that you consider designating a contribution amount each month, as the ECAPAC needs funds at a consistent level to have an impact.

Thank you for your consideration.

Attention Electrical Contractors' Association:

As you perform jobs in the City of Chicago, please remember that it is your responsibility to request rough and final inspections of the work you perform in accordance with Chapter 14A-5 of the Chicago Construction Codes Administrative Provisions in a timely manner. All requests for inspections of permitted work must be submitted online.

If you do not request and pass Department of Buildings inspections of the work covered by your permit by set deadlines, your permit will be suspended and eventually expire.

Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention

It is an unfortunate fact that construction has the highest rate of suicide of any industry in America. We lose about 53 out of every 100,000 members of our industry EVERY YEAR to suicide. We are four times the average of other industries. We have a crisis in construction and we need to do something about it. You can visit the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention website and learn more. We urge all to take the pledge to STAND UP for suicide prevention and address it as a health and safety priority.
