In December, we hosted an Industry Appreciation Breakfast at the Obion County Public Library to recognize the contributions made by our local industry partners!



This breakfast also served as an opportunity for networking and collaboration between our industry partners, educators, and local governments representatives.

Main Street Union City awarded $300,000 in

Downtown Improvement Grant

Main Street Union City has been awarded $300,000 as part of the Downtown Improvement Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. This grant is to help downtown building owners improve the facades and other exterior upgrades of their buildings to create a cleaner, more inviting downtown atmosphere.

Discovery Park Selected as West Tennessee’s Best Museum and Best Place to Take Kids for a Getaway

The Tennessee Magazine asked readers to identify their favorites across the state — everything from museums to scenic drives to flea markets — and the answers poured in from across the state. They have just posted the 2023 Best of Tennessee Readers’ Choice Awards, and Discovery Park has been selected as their favorite West Tennessee museum and the best destination in West Tennessee for a getaway with children. Zoo animals, Dolly and Abe are good company to keep.

UC Schools LIT group learns technology business, job opportunities from Twin Oaks

Members of the Union City Schools Leadership Innovation Team are building relationships that could pay off handsomely in the future.

 

The group – made up of a dozen students from the high school and middle school – recently spent the day at Twin Oaks Technology, where they were educated on the services the business provides locally and nationally.

Discovery Park of America announces 2024 events and free admission for children in January

Thanks to a partnership with Magnolia Place Assisted Living, children 17 and younger will receive free admission to Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tennessee throughout the month of January 2024. There are also many other unique exhibits, experiences and programs taking place during the year.

Leaders Credit Union gives over $8,500 for Leaders with Love projects this holiday season

“Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., spread holiday cheer around West Tenn. with their seventh annual “From Leaders with Love” project. Throughout December, Leaders carried out fourteen projects and gave approximately $8,500 towards local nonprofits. You don’t have to have a membership with Leaders to be served by Leaders,” Brenna Whitman, Champion Development Manager, said. “This is why we do this, to really help others and to serve and to remind ourselves that we are so lucky to be a part of this community.”
