Adult Leadership enjoys Arts and Tourism Day
Adult Leadership Obion County participated in Arts and Tourism Day in May. They visited the Obion County Library, Vantage Coffee, the Masquerade Theater, Reelfoot Brewing Company, and Discover Realty who sponsored breakfast. They also heard from Main Street Union City. Lunch was held and sponsored by Discovery Park where guest speaker Jon Ed Powers represented the tourism board. They toured I69 Motorsports and ended the day at The Boathouse in Samburg.

Latimer Foundation gracious with $40,000 scholarship to UCHS senior Bailey Wagoner | |
Wagoner has become the inaugural recipient of ‘The Latimer’ – a $40,000 scholarship given to the Union City High School senior in four $10,000 increments by the Bill and Carol Latimer Charitable Foundation. A member of the Top 10 in her class and the school’s prestigious 30+ ACT Club, she’s also participated in three sports as well as both the UCHS marching and concert band. Bailey has been involved in various school clubs, her church’s youth group, and vacation bible school. She has also attended Girls State and SCOPE and has been a part of the Obion County Youth Leadership program.

Congressman Kustoff Introduces the Child Care for
American Families Act

House Committee on Ways and Means Reps. David Kustoff (R-TN) among others introduced the bipartisan, Child Care for American Families Act, last week in the House of Representatives. This bill will expand childcare opportunities for working families by building upon the Employer-Provided Childcare Tax Credit.
