ECA February Membership Meeting

The Electrical Contractors' Association of the City of Chicago (ECA) February Membership Meeting was held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg, IL.

The meeting highlighted recent developments in the industry, as well as a keynote presentation delivered by Dr. Paul Lisnek, Political Analyst at WGN-TV. Dr. Lisnek delved into various topics, such as the forthcoming Primaries, the upcoming Presidential Election, and Chicago and State political dynamics, providing valuable insights across multiple areas. We thank Dr. Lisnek for his time and illuminating discussions.

Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago’s (ECA’s) Research and Education Committee was pleased to have sponsored the “Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction” workshop being held on February 12 – 14, 2024 at the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (INTECH) in Alsip, IL. The program had 30 registrants, and the sessions were facilitated by Glenn DeSoto, NECA Education Instructor.

We thank Glenn for his expertise and all who were able to participate in the program!

Young Professionals of ECA: 2024 Topgolf Event

The Young Professionals of the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) had an amazing time last Thursday at Topgolf in Schaumburg, IL, for the first YP event for 2024.

It was a well-attended event where members had the opportunity to hear from ECA lobbyist Chris Nybo as he unpacked the importance of government advocacy and lobbying, emphasizing how a voice can be utilized to influence government decisions. Mr. Nybo also highlighted some of the current Bills that may potentially impact the construction industry.
