CDC Updates Respiratory Virus Recommendations
The recommendations suggest returning to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever was present, it has been gone without use of a fever-reducing medication.
Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and/or getting tested for respiratory viruses. Enhanced precautions are especially important to protect those most at risk for severe illness, including those over 65 and people with weakened immune systems. CDC’s updated guidance reflects how the circumstances around COVID-19 in particular have changed. While it remains a threat, today it is far less likely to cause severe illness because of widespread immunity and improved tools to prevent and treat the disease. Importantly, states and countries that have already adjusted recommended isolation times have not seen increased hospitalizations or deaths related to COVID-19.

Civil Service Rules Change
Resolution 2020-151 amended Civil Service Rules 5.407 and 5.411. Rule 5.407 governs annual leave accumulation limits, and Rule 5.411 governs the payment of accrued unused annual leave at the time an employee exits the County. Please be advised that the accumulation limits have increased from 256 hours to 356 for general employees, and 576 for fire shift personnel. This change is beneficial to employees, and basically increases the amount of annual leave payout.
The change in the accumulation limits does not impact your accrual rate. All covered employees earn annual and sick leave at the rate of 4 hours per pay period. The effective date of Resolution 2020-151 is August 4, 2020.
If you have any questions, please contact your supervisor, or call Human Resources.

Department Heads and staff should review the brand video and requirements for the new brand logo, tagline and marketing slogan, which was approved for all BOC departments effective July 7, 2020. The official logo, lettering and colors should not be changed and should never appear distorted when printed, embroidered, posted, or electronically shared.
It is important to make all vendors and partners aware of the official brand guide and official color pallette with the correct numbers when creating flyers, promotional, uniforms, swag, etc. for your department using the full color, black, or white version of the logo. White background of solid colors that are not in the logo are recommended that convey all details clearly of the logo (no fade, no lines, no circles, no gradients etc. that would change the logo.) Otherwise, use the black logo or white logo or gray scale only to achieve the full effect of the logo without distorting it.
If you have questions, contact the Office of Communications/Print Services at printshop@claytoncountyga.gov, (770) 477-3562. for immediate assistance before you print or order.

BE INTENTIONAL
What does it mean to be intentional? It means working with a purpose – making every action count. It’s about focusing on doing the right things, moment to moment, day to day, and then following through with them in a consistent way.
Successful individuals are intentional. They are not scattered or haphazard. They know what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. For a team to be successful, it needs intentional people who are able to remain focused and productive, people who make every action count.
How intentional are you? As you proceed through your day, do you have a plan and a purpose for everything you do? Do you know where you’re going and why you’re doing what you’re doing? Or are you simply drifting down the stream of life? If your teammates don’t detect a sense of intentionality in you, they won’t know what to expect from you, and they will be unlikely to count on you when it really counts.
--The 17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player
… John C. Maxwell
BE INTENTIONAL TODAY. MAKE EVERY ACTION COUNT.
Have a wonderful week.
