HIPMC Spotlight: Shayna Diamond

Meet Shayna Diamond, the new Community Health Manager!

We would like to introduce you to Shayna Diamond, the new Community Health Manager! Shayna is in a brand-new role created to oversee the Maricopa County Department of Public Health team that supports the CHNA and CHIP, including the HIPMC. We asked her a few questions to provide insight into her new role. Read her interview below!

What are you responsible for in your position?

As the Community Health Manager, I provide strategic direction to the CHNA, the CHIP, and the Focus Population staff (individuals living with a disability, aging adults, Native Americans, LGBTQ+, and Refugee/Immigrant/Migrant). This team ensures that our community health initiatives are well-coordinated, data-driven, and impactful, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes for the population we serve.

What are you looking forward to most in your new role?

I’m excited to foster collaboration to improve the quality of life in our community. This position is able to move the needle on both community engagement and health equity, two areas I love!

What excites you about the HIPMC?

HIPMC is where the rubber hits the road! After a year of the CHNA gathering input from our residents, the CHNA findings are used by organizations as they come together to develop the CHIP and implement strategic plans to address our health needs. We can do so much more together than we can apart, and the impact is long-lasting. We have a chance to make an incredible difference in our community. THAT excites me.

What would your slogan be if you were a brand?

Putting the We in Wellness

How can an organization/company get in contact with you?

The most practical approach is to email me at Shayna.diamond@maricopa.gov or connect with me on LinkedIn at Shayna Diamond, MA, PMP | LinkedIn

Is there anything else you would like to share, or want people to know about you?

My favorite quote by a fellow Anthropologist is from Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
