As any of our summer friends and clients will tell you, August is a special time around Lake Tahoe. The waters have warmed, purple dusks linger, and after long sun-kissed days, the evenings are often sweetened by late-afternoon rains.

Around town there is always much to enjoy. The Shakespeare Festival is featuring The Merry Wives of Windsor, the jazz great Bony James, and the Sierra Nevada Ballet, among many others. The Ski Run Farmers' Market is back each Friday, blessing us with freshly-picked organic heirloom tomatoes, cool basil, and artisan vinaigrettes. It's the perfect stop before a picnic caprese dinner on the water. We recommend visiting Cork and More for a nice Sauvignon Blanc and then selecting Fallen Leaf Lake for your own picnic. You may even find us swimming with Oliver some evening.

Warm weather always brings requests for light, fresh scents. This summer has brought an interesting twist- an increased interest in tropical gourmands. Blends of vanilla with citrus, tropical fruit, and flowers are increasingly sought out by customers. Gone are any limitations on gender or age, and men as well as women are enjoying summer gourmands. Most brands, both commercial and niche, have at least one Floral Fruity Gourmand in their collection. Fragrance Vault stocks a nice selection of this genre for our clients.
