Due to increased risk and uncertainties related to COVID-19, the City of Corinth has made the decision to cancel Summer Camp 2020. With complications in staffing, limited field trip venues, and above all the safety of our campers and employees, we feel this was the best course of action.
We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, and hope the advance notice provides families time to find alternate childcare options. We look forward to our community getting through this crisis, and can't wait to be back next year!

The 2020 Census is here! By now, you have hopefully received your Census questionnaire in the mail. This year you have the ability to fill out via mail, over the phone or online! An important rule of thumb is to remember that if someone lives in your house- they count! Corinth is doing great as far as response rates, with over 60% completion! The Texas average is around 45% completion! If you haven't submitted yours, there's still time! Everyone's response matters when it comes to decisions about funding programs and resources that benefit our whole community for years to come. For more information, check out the website below!

BEAUTIFY YOUR YARD- WHILE SAVING WATER!
|
There are a number of techniques you can use that will beautify your yard while still conserving water. You may have heard the term 'xeriscaping' (pronounced zeer-i-skey-ping) before. This is the use of native and adaptive plants that can take the summer heat without requiring large amounts of water that will strain your pocketbook or the region's water supply.
There are numerous ways to incorporate xeriscaping into your yard:
- Water your plants and turf deeply and less frequently. Frequent, shallow watering keeps plant roots too close to the surface of your yard. Using less frequent watering trains roots to go deeper into the ground, where they are better protected from the Texas heat and better prepared to grow strong, resulting in bigger and healthier plants.
- Use an automated sprinkler system to maintain your yard. Incorporate a rain sensor to ensure that your system does not run during rain events.
- Audit your sprinkler system by observing where and how long your watering zones need to run. Reposition sprinkler heads so that you're not sprinkling the sidewalk or street. Using empty tuna or cat food cans, run zones for as long as it takes for the cans to fill with one inch of water and then program your sprinkler system accordingly.
- When planning your landscaping, take note of what side of the house you're planting on and where and much sun there is in these areas.
- When planning the layout of your garden or yard, make sure plants that are next to each other require the same amount of water. This makes watering much easier.
- Use native and adaptive plants that can take hot Texas summers without requiring copious amounts of water or care. These plants also require fewer pesticides and fertilizers to thrive in the north Texas environment.

The City is currently updating its Comprehensive Plan and Master Parks and Trails Plan. The Comprehensive Plan sets the foundation for the future development including, the zoning or rezoning of properties in the community, as well as addressing the City’s future roadway needs. The Master Parks and Trails Plan is analyzing what improvements are needed to the City’s park and trails systems and will ensure that the City has adequate park land in the future.
A preliminary draft of the Comprehensive Plan is available for view on the City’s Planning and Development webpage at
https://www.cityofcorinth.com/planning-development
.
Any comments or questions that you may have regarding the Comprehensive Plan can be sent to
Planning@cityofcorinth.com

MILLENNIUM PLACE DEVELOPMENT
|
The Millennium Place Development has really started to take form. Following the opening of the apartments last August they have been hard at work bringing a new retail/commercial building to Corinth, a new event center, as well as breaking ground on a new hotel with conference center. Below are all of the onsite projects currently in progress!
- Doggies Wonderland, will provide bathing, boarding and day care services for the furry, four legged members of our families.
- Epic Nail Bar, will be a new nail salon that will also serve wine and mixed drinks while they are hard at work making your nails look amazing!
- Lakeview Manor is a wedding/event center currently under construction within the Millennium Place Development. The project is expected to be completed later this fall.
- Fairfield Inn will be an 87-room hotel with a conference center large enough to seat 80 attendees. The development will provide Corinth with much needed meeting space, and will be available to rent for banquets, company meetings, or local conferences. The Crosspointe subdivision is located at the southwest corner of Lake Sharon Drive and Tower Ridge Drive. The subdivision is comprised of 37 lots with each lot being approximately 40 feet in width. The reduced size of the lots results in less maintenance needs for homeowners and are ideal for empty nesters, young families or anyone who lacks a green thumb. The homes are being constructed by M/I Homes and are priced from $259,000 and up. There are currently 17 homes either permitted for construction, currently under construction or completed. Lots are going quick so act fast!
