Be a pointe of grace — God’s grace, to everyone you meet . . .

RIC Logo.png

As people of Grace, made one in the waters of baptism, we are strengthened by diversity. We are a community that welcomes people of every ability, age, citizenship status, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, language, life circumstance, marital status, political perspective, race, sexual orientation, and creed.

Whether you are a believer, doubter, or seeker, or something in between,

you are welcomed and valued here. We celebrate God’s unconditional love and respond joyfully to all of God’s diverse people present here.

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord. (Ps. 22:27)

Worship on April 28st will be onsite and live-streamed.

This Weekend

Up-coming Adult Education

Starts Sun, April 28 at 11:00am

Our next adult education opportunity is based on the book Heresy: A History of Defending the Truth by Alister McGrath.

  • April 28: What is heresy? How and why did the concept develop? What were some of the first controversies the early church had to deal with?
  • May 5: What do we mean when we talk about God as triune (three and one)? What controversies led to the development of the Nicene Creed?
  • May 12: Is the concept of heresy still meaningful today? Does it matter what we believe? What are some common ideas among modern Christians that Lutherans find problematic?

Join us for a fascinating three-week conversation on this book starting on Sunday, April 27th at 11:00am.

Youth Group

Every Sunday at 11am

Every Sunday the youth (5th-12th graders) are welcomed into The Hive at 11:00 AM. The youth will be watching a documentary called "Do Black Churches Matter in the ELCA?" for the next two Sundays.

Worship Planning

Sunday, April 28 at Noon

If you have musical skills you would like to share, come! If you have a desire to be part of the thematic and musical choices of worship, come! We are always eager for more hands and heads in the planning of the worship services. We meet once a month to plan the upcoming month/liturgical season.

Events

Children's Church

1st and 3rd Sunday of Each Month

We welcome our youngest worshipers to Children's Church on the first and third Sunday of the month. Children will begin service in the sanctuary with their families, and then are invited to go to Children's Church in The Hive. After crafts, games, and a bible lesson, children return to the sanctuary and their families during the Passing of the Peace.

Service of Healing Prayer

Sunday, May 5 at 10:30 am

(1st Sunday of Each Month)

The Pointe of Grace Care and Prayer Team will offer a Service of Healing Prayer immediately after worship on Sunday. The service is expected to last 20-30 minutes and will include quiet time for contemplation and private prayer, a Scripture reading and short reflection, and a time where prayer ministers are available to pray with you. You are welcome to request prayer for yourself or anyone else for any reason at all. You may choose to pray with a prayer minister or simply to pray by yourself during the service. Many people find great solace and comfort in prayer services like this. If you are familiar with healing prayer services we encourage you to join us. If this is new to you, we encourage you to come and check it out. This is a wonderful gift and we encourage you to attend.

Confirmation Class

Sunday, May 5th at 11:00am

Held on the first Sunday of every month. This is a 2 year program for students 6th-12th grade with their parents and mentors walking through their baptismal promises. We cover topics and lessons of: Old & New Testament, Apostles' Creed, Lord's Prayer, Ten Commandments, and the Sacraments, intertwined with the small catechism and Bible study.

Theology Pub

Sunday, May 5 from 2-3:30pm

at Mukilteo Lodge Sports Grille (1st Sunday of Each Month)

So what is Theology Pub? In a nutshell, it’s people sitting around a table, talking about issues of faith and philosophy, ethics and ideas over a beverage.

It is a safe space, where people can be open and honest about topics of faith, ask any questions, and at the end of the night, know that it’s perfectly fine if we disagree.

In other words, this isn’t church, and no one is going to make anyone pray, sign a faith statement, or tithe (though be sure to tip the bartender!) And beer is not a requirement! Non-alcoholic beverages are available too. All are welcome, regardless of beverage choice.

In its simplest form:

Theology Pub is open conversation about stuff that matters over a good beverage.

Preschool Chapel

Mon, May 6 and Tues. May 7 at 9:45 am

Come worship with our preschool classes. Hear a Bible story, sing fun songs and meet some beautiful children.

HPCP Spring Sing

Wed, May 8 and Thurs, May 9 at 6pm

Join us on May 8th and 9th at 6pm in the sanctuary for a delightful evening of melodies at our Preschool's Spring Sing program!

Delight in the heartwarming performances as our little stars take the stage to showcase their musical talents and spread joy through song. It's a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together, celebrate the season, and create cherished memories. Mark your calendars and join us for an evening filled with laughter, applause, and the sweet sounds of children singing!

Women's Bible Study

Wednesdays at 10am

The Women’s Bible Study at Pointe of Grace Lutheran is a group of women committed to the study of the Scriptures, to prayer and to each other. The joy we experience learning and the support we receive as we look into the meaning of the Scriptures keeps us returning each week. The women in the study come from a variety of church experiences although most attend Pointe of Grace. What this study does is deepen faith and friendship as we go out to do what we learn. Please join us!

If you have any questions, contact Evelyn at evlnseymour@gmail.com.

New Study Book

We are starting a new study; Women of the New Testament by Phyllis J. LePeau from LifeGuide Bible Studies. This 10-week study introduces twelve significant women of the New Testament, and invites you to enter into their lives and learn from them what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

These guides are available on Amazon and at several other Christian book sellers and at used book sellers.  Each of us will order our own book.  If you need some help getting a study guide contact Evelyn Seymour.

LiVE's NEW Changing Church Cohort

Once a Month at 7pm via this Zoom Link

FREE TO ALL

What is the Changing Church Cohort?

This cohort is for any lay (and rostered) leaders wishing to explore the dynamics of changing church in today's complex world; a time of deep anxiety around church decline, uncertainty of any vital future, and how to reimagine promising ways forward. Together we'll wonder how we might reframe our grounding as churches in light of God's promises and presence. There will also be Asynchronous Online Discussion available around the various chapters, via our online learning platform (Mighty Networks)

Who Should Attend?

All are welcome, but the following might especially appreciate this time for discussion, common perspectives, and resource sharing across our synod:

  • Lay congregants
  • Church Council Members and other lay volunteers
  • Rostered leaders & church staff
  • Anyone who has a heart for the church and/or anxiety around its future

How do I get more information or join the Cohort?

Attend Monday night or join us on Mighty Networks HERE

This Monday we'll discuss the first 2 chapters of Andrew Root's book When Church Stops Working (although you'll still find the conversation valuable even if you didn't yet read the material).

Future dates: Feb. 11- Discussing chapters 3-5 AND Mar. 10 - Discussing chapters 6-8
