ECA Student Committee Update


The ECA Student Committee would like to thank Mike Meyer, ECA Student Committee Chair, Director of Construction Operations, Continental Electrical Construction Company, for his assistance with a company warehouse visit on Friday, April 5, 2024, to offer the students a unique perspective of BIM utilization realized on a project – specially, use of a robotic total station, as this year’s ECIC primarily concerns BIM use, among other areas concerning a project.

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) 52nd Annual Spring Conference will be held on June 12 - 13, 2024 at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. The American Club is one of the premier resort hotels in the country. It is the only AAA Five Diamond Resort in the Midwest. We’re sure that this is reason enough to attend this Conference. Registration closes May 3, 2024!

The Senate has established April 12, 2024, as the deadline for bills introduced in that chamber to be voted on and sent to the House.

Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention


It is an unfortunate fact that construction has the highest rate of suicide of any industry in America. We lose about 53 out of every 100,000 members of our industry EVERY YEAR to suicide. We are four times the average of other industries. We have a crisis in construction and we need to do something about it. You can visit the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention website and learn more. We urge all to take the pledge to STAND UP for suicide prevention and address it as a health and safety priority.
