ECA Industry Update

Urgent: Participation Needed!

NECA has once again commissioned a study to provide a profile of electrical contractor officer and overhead personnel compensation and fringe benefits policies. We need your company's information to ensure we are providing a comprehensive landscape.

The study's data reflect the real-life experience of NECA-member firms, which makes it such a valuable tool for benchmarking compensation and benefit levels in the electrical contractor industry!

You can see a past version of this survey here

All respondents will receive a complimentary copy of the Officer and Overhead Personnel Compensation Study and a customized individual Company Compensation Report. Additionally, respondents will receive access to a comprehensive officer-level compensation calculator and an infographic of the study’s key results.

The survey is confidential and should take less than 30 minutes to complete. Feedback is due no later than July 19.

We greatly appreciate all participation. Thank you!

2024 Roatan Cross-Border Recap

ELECTRI May Recap

ELECTRI is looking for additional participants for the following research projects. Please consider signing up for one or both projects or asking someone else from your company to participate.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We need to interview contractors who have some level of real experience using AI in construction. This will help us to determine the ways in which AI should or should not be used in electrical construction based on practice-based evidence. Please use this Calendar Link to sign up to participate in an interview.

Cost of Inexperience and Schedule Compression: Inexperience in construction impacts how projects are delivered in terms of schedule, cost, and quality. With the looming labor cliff and the ever-growing need to deliver infrastructure and buildings projects for our communities, we need to understand how inexperience is affecting our projects today to start to collaboratively build solutions for the future. To those who are willing to share their professional experience, please reach out Amelia Celoza (Amelia.Celoza@Colorado.edu) to schedule a call if you are interested.

This research project engaged more than 40 electrical contractors in 4 workshops to explain the many causes and effects of out-of-sequence work and schedule compression.

Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention

It is an unfortunate fact that construction has the highest rate of suicide of any industry in America. We lose about 53 out of every 100,000 members of our industry EVERY YEAR to suicide. We are four times the average of other industries. We have a crisis in construction and we need to do something about it. You can visit the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention website and learn more. We urge all to take the pledge to STAND UP for suicide prevention and address it as a health and safety priority.
