Hello Champions!

We are officially at the year’s halfway mark; can you believe it is already July? This might surprise you, but during the summer months the Mission sees an increase in people coming through our doors as they seek refuge from the summer’s extreme Valley heat. What is a vacation time for so many is actually a time of danger and discomfort for others in our community due to severe temperatures. So, we have an opportunity to reach more with the Gospel and provide essential services such as our Day Center/Cooling Center during the summer months. Thank you all for being the hands and feet of Christ as we claim victory and expand the Kingdom of God to those we serve. Also, I wanted to officially announce that for this year’s Gala concert, all sponsorships and all proceeds of ticket sales will go towards the Hannah’s House capital campaign. This year’s musical artist is “We Are Messengers” and tickets are now on sale for the event on Saturday, September 14th from 5-9 PM. This year the event will be hosted at a new location: Calvary Chapel Modesto. Mark your calendars and buy those tickets! Again, thank you all for all that you do to impact our community by being a reflection of Christ Jesus.

2024 Fall GALA with WE ARE MESSENGERS

The Modesto Gospel Mission is excited to announce its 2024 Fall Gala on September 14th, featuring a live performance by WE ARE MESSENGERS! This year, the event will be hosted by Calvary Chapel Modesto. All proceeds will go towards building Hannah’s House, a new women’s and children’s shelter in Modesto that will provide 95 additional beds for our community's most vulnerable individuals.

WE ARE MESSENGERS is an acclaimed Christian band known for their powerful, uplifting music and heartfelt lyrics. With a unique blend of contemporary Christian rock and worship, the band has touched countless lives worldwide through their inspiring songs. Led by frontman Darren Mulligan, WE ARE MESSENGERS delivers a passionate and authentic message of faith, hope, and love. 

Your support will help change the lives of families for generations. The evening will feature powerful testimonies from women who have stayed at the Mission, a worship concert by WE ARE MESSENGERS, a silent auction, and delicious food. This special night promises to be both entertaining and inspiring, encouraging our community to join the Modesto Gospel Mission in making a lasting impact.

... there is more joy in Heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!" -Luke 15:7

Isn’t it amazing that out of all the people in the world, Heaven rejoices when one sinner comes to Jesus for forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life! If you and I belong to Jesus, do we still have that same joy we first had . . . or has it faded? And when a person at the Mission comes to Christ and receives salvation, do we rejoice with them in the same way Heaven does? How do we continue to feel joy when life is hard? We need to look to Jesus, my friend, and ask Him to give us His joy! We need to praise Him and thank Him for all He has done for us! If that doesn’t bring back our joy, we need to get on our knees in repentance and faith. Let’s bring real joy to the Mission every day!
