2023 Montgomery Road Sidewalk Project:

The Montgomery Road Sidewalk Project is 60% completed. Many township residents and visitors are already using the new sidewalk on the north side of Montgomery Road. We are happy to share the project is ahead of schedule and will be completed by August 1. Adleta Construction and township staff appreciate the patience as well as caution drivers are exercising when navigating through the construction zone.

As a reminder, these improvements are part of the township’s strategic planning to increase public safety and the walkability within our community. The project is funded through a grant from the Transit Infrastructure Fund (SORTA) and Sycamore Township.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Mike Gould at 513-792-7251 or mgould@sycamoretownship.org.

2023 Cape Seal Project:

One of the largest pavement preservation projects to date for Sycamore Township will begin the week of July 17, 2023. Strawser Construction will be performing a two-phase method of resurfacing thirty-two streets and 13 miles of Township roadway. The project is expected to last 2-3 weeks. The first phase will be a tar and chip application to restore the structural integrity of the pavement and then within a week micro-surfacing will be performed to complete the preservation process. The attached photo illustrates the appearance of the roadway during each preservation process. At the completion of the project, all roads within the project area will appear new again and be restored to excellent condition.

The cost of this project is over $800K and it will extend the useful life of the street by more than 8 years. The cost to resurface the same area with traditional paving methods and new asphalt would exceed $2.4 million. To learn if your street is part of our 2023 Pavement Preservation Program, please visit the Township’s Website at https://sycamoretownship.org/departments/maintenance/road-projects/

If you have questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Mike Gould at 513-792-7251 or mgould@sycamoretownship.org

Gideon Lane Culvert Project:

The Gideon Lane Culvert Project is scheduled to start the week of July 10, 2023. The project limits are approximately 300 lineal feet east and west of 11485 Gideon Lane. (See map)

To allow for the removal of the failing culvert and construction of the new one, Gideon Lane will be closed to through traffic starting on July 10, 2023. It is expected that this closure will be needed for 6 weeks with construction scheduled to be completed by September 25, 2023 (weather permitting). Residential access will continuously be supported on each side of the project. Detour signs are posted so residents can safely navigate around the construction zone.

The cost of this project is $431,518.16 and it’s being funded by a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission and Sycamore Township.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Mike Gould at 513-792-7251 or mgould@sycamoretownship.org
