We're gearing up for 2024 Comal County 4-H Dance Fundraiser on October 19, 2024, at the Columbus Hall in New Braunfels, and it's going to be epic! To make it the best it can be, we need your help with sponsorships.

Think of all the fun things we can have at the event – live band (will be announced later), great barbeque dinner, silent auction items, and games! Sponsorships help us make those things happen.

Here's where you come in! We've attached a cool flyer about the 2024 Comal County 4-H Dance Fundraiser Sponsorships and the 501(c)(3). We'd love for you to show it to your parents, family friends, and even local businesses!

Here's how you can be a Sponsorship Superhero:

  • Talk it up! Tell everyone about the event and how awesome it's going to be. Show them the flyer and explain how sponsorships help make it happen.
  • Target local businesses that might be interested in supporting the Comal County 4-H (restaurants, shops, etc.). You can even offer to help write a short message to go with the flyer.
  • Be polite and enthusiastic! Everyone loves someone who's excited about something.

Every sponsorship counts! The more sponsors we get, the better the event will be for everyone.

Woodland Clinic – This is an ongoing contest coordinated by the Texas Forestry Association and open to 4-H and FFA members. Since our 4-H Forestry Invitational has declined over the years and disappeared as a state contest, we are now joining with the Woodland Clinic and considering it our state 4-H Forestry project event. This event has been in place for many years with a knowledgeable group of professionals running it, 4-H members have been attending for years, and there is a scholarship award attached. The 1st place 4-H Senior Team will also be eligible to attend the 4-H National Forestry Invitational. All good reasons to join an effort already in place and operating well. Details will be posted on the 4-H Forestry webpage (https://texas4-.tamu.edu/projects/forestry/).

Forestry Project Training for CEAs – This will be our second training offered to CEAs, Program Assistants, and District 4-H Specialists. 4-H is partnering with Texas Forestry Association to present this 3 day training on forestry, the forestry industry, Project Learning Tree (forestry curriculum), and the Woodland Clinic (curriculum and contest). This training is hands on including site visits to forestry industry such as tree farms, harvest sites, and lumber mills. The AgriLife Texas Forest Service is also highlighted in this training and many of their employees will be instructors during in this training. Attendees will receive numerous pieces of educational material and curricula and will be certified as facilitators in the Project Learning Tree curriculum allowing them to not only use the materials but also to provide curriculum and training to school teachers in their local areas.  Details on registration will be available soon.

Wildlife Conservation Camp – This camp for high school aged youth is focused on wildlife and their habitats within the 10 ecoregions of Texas.  Days will be filled with hands on education in the field, classrooms, and labs learning about wildlife biology and ecology along with habitat management techniques and habitat and wildlife survey practices. The camp is sponsored by the Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society and will be held this year on the Bamberger Ranch outside of Johnson City. Full details will be posted on the 4-H Wildlife & Fisheries webpage (https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/wildlife-fisheries/).
