The Medavie Scholarship honours Pierre-Yves Julien, the former CEO of Medavie. As a not-for-profit health services organization, Pierre-Yves recognized that we don’t have an obligation to shareholders, but to the communities where our employees and clients live and work.

From this vision, he helped found the Medavie Health Foundation, which is focused on addressing some of our country’s most pressing physical and mental health care challenges. It was his shared belief that improving the lives of those impacted by chronic conditions doesn’t start at the doctor’s office, but in our homes and community centres, and on our playgrounds. Pierre-Yves retired in 2016, but his legacy lives on through this scholarship.
