Ruth Bader Ginsburg Presentation

Sunday, January 14 from 6-9pm


Ruth Bader Ginsburg is brought to life in the person of actress, Sheryl Faye. Ginsburg was a lawyer, professor of law and a judge who went on to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court associate justice for 27 years. She championed fairness and equality and was a leading voice for gender equality, women's interests and civil liberty rights. 


6 p.m. - Reception with Champagne and Appetizers, Champagne generously sponsored by Lueanne Wood, PA. 

7 p.m. - Performance

Tickets are $40.00 with a limitation of 150 attendees.

Family Promise of South Sarasota County, an organization that aims to alleviate homelessness for families, is excited to announce a new, exciting Mardi Gras celebration aimed at raising program funds. This event promises to bring the community together for a festive occasion while making a meaningful impact on the lives of families experiencing a housing crisis.


Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with the spirit of Mardi Gras, complete with lively music, colorful costumes, and delicious cuisine. The event will feature:

Live Entertainment: Enjoy live performances from local artists and musicians, adding to the festive atmosphere.


Culinary Delights: Indulge in a variety of mouthwatering dishes and traditional Mardi Gras buffet prepared by local restaurants including a full bar.

Raffle: Try your luck in our exciting raffles for a chance to win! You may find yourself embarking on an adventurous escape with a 3-night vacation for two; or indulge with a legendary Yeti cooler filled with booze; or take home the coveted jackpot with a 50-50 raffle of cold, hard cash!

Parade: A dazzling parade led by the local jazz artists showcasing your festive Mardi Gras attire.

Children's Activities: Bring the whole family! We have planned entertaining activities for children, such as face painting, balloon twisting, and crafts, ensuring a fun-filled experience for everyone.

All proceeds from the Mardi Gras celebration will go directly to Family Promise of South Sarasota County’s programs. Our organization is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families facing a housing crisis by providing shelter, resources, and support to help them regain stability and independence.

The City of Venice is looking for motivated individuals to serve on its new Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) starting this year. Applications for this nine-member volunteer board (including 1 student member and 1 Venice Art Center member) will be accepted through Thursday, Jan. 18, followed by Venice City Council evaluation and selection of the new members.
