Belcher Elementary School - Backpacks and School Supplies
Thank you to everyone who brought in back packs and school supplies last week. We collected 60 back packs and various items such as notebook paper, notebooks, glue sticks, scissors, pencil bags, etc. Caroline delivered everything to Belcher Elementary on Monday.
Due to the cancelation of last week's Sunday service and the impact of Tropical Storm Debby, we are extending the donation time through this week. Please bring items to church with you on Sunday. Caroline will make another delivery on Monday, Aug. 12.

Pack-a-Sack - Belcher Elementary School
Pack-a-Sack is a program that provides food for weekends for children who have been identified by school counselors as food insecure. St. John's is currently providing weekend food packs for 40 children at Belcher Elementary. The pack contains enough food for a child for the weekend - cereal, shelf stable milk, juice, fruit boxes, cereal bars, mac & cheese, ramen noodles, etc. If you would like to sponsor a child for one month- $25, or for one year $225, please mark your gift for Pack a Sack. For more information or to assist with the packing, contact Caroline Barnett.

Please remember to wear your name tags!
If you don't have a name tag and would like to order one, there is a sign-up sheet at the entrance to the church.
A name badge says to the world, “I'm here and I'm open to conversation.” Church is about community and connection – two things that happen naturally when people start talking to each other. Name tags allow others to be greeted by name and can make introductions less intimidating.

STEWARDSHIP WORKSHOP:AUG. 24 - FULFILLING GOD’S DREAM
We live in a world that convinces local churches that we are working with limited resources to accomplish a task that is too big and burdensome. Church’s best assets drain resources and fewer people seem to want to be connected to the church. On top if it all, in Florida, insurance and costs increase while our resources and funds decrease. God’s dream for our local churches is more powerful than those realities. We will learn to inspire people to live…
