River Forest Township Assessor Pamela Kende is hosting a Community Outreach with the Cook County Board of Review on August 5 at 6PM to help you file your property tax assessment appeal. The free event will be at 8020 Madison, Room 206. Please bring a copy of your property tax bill. A successful appeal would adjust your 2nd installment tax bill in 2025. The Board of Review appeal period is open until August 20, 2024. If you are unable to attend, request an appeal packet created by the River Forest Township Assessor

Bonnie Noe the Community Care Program Supervisor of Oak Park-River Forest Townships will be the guest speaker at August’s Coffee Monday (the first Monday of the month) in River Forest Public Library Barbara Hall Meeting Room from 10-11AM on August 5th. Bonnie will talk about the services the township provides for older adults and those with disabilities.

From Pre-K to high school seniors, the Township is collecting new book bags and school supplies to ensure every student in our community starts the year off right. Backpacks will be filled with folders, rulers, scissors, notebooks, crayons, pencils, erasers and more! Pick up the backpacks at the Township Backpack Program distribution event at the CRC gym (229 Madison Street) in Oak Park on August 9 from 4-7PM. Let’s give our local youth the tools they need for a successful school year!

On August 24 from 4-7PM, the Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest will hold its annual Food Truck Rally in Keystone Park, River Forest with River Forest Township as a sponsor. The Township will be there with our spin-the-wheel to learn about our programs with plenty of give-aways.
