Meet our Volunteers of the Month:
Amy & Bill Hiller
I started at the Lewes Public Library 18 years ago. When I was in high school I started with a “page job”, and I have worked or volunteered in many different libraries. After moving to Lewes, I applied to be a volunteer at the Lewes Public Library and it was a wonderful decision. For many years, I worked at the circulation desk on Tuesday mornings. I particularly enjoyed shelving books. After the COVID reopening, I started taking care of the “New Books” shelves.
Over the years, I have been very impressed by the growing number of services the Lewes Public Library provides to the community. Libraries are no longer just places to borrow books! Amy
Having spent five years covering books in the back room of the library I’ve gotten to see how many material services the Lewes Public Library provides to the community such as distributing winter coats for children, powdered infant formula for new mothers, and snack packs for youngsters as well as satchels of books for discussion by the area’s many book clubs. Lewes would be a lesser place without the many services I see the library provide from week to week. Bill
