Agriculture Future of America Ambassador

Helene Keiser, So. Animal Science, is an ambassador for the Agriculture Future of America (AFA).

AFA is a nationwide organization that aims to build a bridge between college students and the agricultural industry. By partnering with companies such as CHS, John Deere, Cargill,

Tyson, Bayer, Corteva, Land O Lakes, Merck, and dozens of other small and large companies,

they provide several opportunities for students to network, get involved in the industry,

and stay involved and connected as they move through their careers.

When discussing this opportunity with Helene, she shared that AFA is a wonderful organization

that has given her loads of opportunities to grow and develop as a person and professional.

One of her favorite workshops last year was with Life Coach Dr. Jason Womack.

He shared, "In a world that rewards doing, where is the room for being?"

His workshop helped her change her way of thinking to living like a person instead of a resume. This has helped Helene be more outgoing and value the journey and connections she makes

more than just the end result on a piece of paper!

The Importance of Studying Biology

Dr. Nabarun Ghosh, Professor of Biology,

and Career Development in Biology Abroad."

This lecture was delivered at a Seminar

in collaboration with IQAC Rammohan College,

City College, Kolkata, India.

A Moment with Mrs. Bachman

Dr. Pond's Ponder

During a recent trip to Boston,

I visited the statue of one of the greatest basketball players and player-coaches

of all time, Bill Russell.

The quote Bill chose to have next to his statue was:

"Commitment separates those who live their dreams

from those who live their lives regretting the opportunities they have squandered."

Let's live our dreams and not squander opportunities!
