Native Plant Gardens for Local Pollinators

Ms. Pence’s 6th grade science classes designed pollinator gardens for local pollinators.

Students chose one or two pollinators, and then researched plants native to SLO county that support these pollinators.

They had to choose 7-10 of these native plants, and then

design a garden to include them.

Students are encouraged to take their designs home and share with their families.

Not only will these gardens support pollinators- they will provide a stunning view that is also drought friendly!

Atascadero High School's

Top Thirty

Wednesday evening we celebrated AHS's Top Thirty. Students self-select to apply for Top Thirty by writing essays about their four years at AHS including their academic achievements, sports, clubs,

activities and more.

They also write about their volunteer work in our community and submit letters of recommendation.

It is always a hard job to narrow our amazing senior class down to the Top Thirty.

Congratulations to this year's amazing group.
