San Benito High School Expands Alumni Outreach
With nearly 125 years of graduates, San Benito High School has a rich history in our community, combining multi-generational alumni with relative newcomers who combine to form a connection to campus that we want to celebrate. This is the first of our new, monthly, alumni-focused newsletters, which will help you connect or reconnect to SBHS and allow us to share information and about our proud alumni. In addition to receiving the newsletter, there are many ways to stay connected to your alma mater, from attending sporting events and performances on campus to lending your time and expertise to future alumni activities, such as a planned alumni golf tournament, participating in a Spotlight Speaker series during our Academic Focus Time period, helping us plan future alumni activities and events, and following us on Facebook (San Benito High School, Twitter (@BalerNews) or Instagram (@Baler News and @BalerSports). You can also have a direct impact on current students by supporting our Support-A-Student Program (see details in the story below). In the meantime, if you are a Haybaler alum who wants to get involved with our alumni outreach, please click the link below to email district Communications Officer Adam Breen (Class of '87) to let him know how you'd like to help.
Support-A-Student Program Takes Off
During the 2018-19 school year, the Support a Student Program was created to assist current San Benito High School students offset the cost of Advanced Placement exams, college and university trips, and student leadership conferences. As a school district, we believe deeply in providing all students with the greatest range of options upon graduation, and this program provides many students with opportunities that may not be available to them based on their financial circumstances. Our goal for the current 2019-20 school year is to match the District's generous contribution of $25,000 to help students offset the cost of Advanced Placement exams.
As of the start of October, we have raised $12,500 and are halfway to our goal.

Contributions have come from the following benefactors:

  • Climatec $3,000
  • Neptune Benson $2,000
  • VERDE Designs $2,000
  • Myrtha Pools $2,000
  • Arch Pac Designs $1,000
  • AEDIS Architects $1,000
  • Blach Construction $1,000
  • Jerome Zalinski $500

San Benito High School students are an amazing group of future leaders who continue to excel in and out of the classroom. Our goal is to help them achieve their goal!
