Oh, The Places You'll Go

As the 2022-2023 academic year closes, Reading Power celebrates our students' remarkable literacy gains this year. With the help of our volunteer tutors, students have excelled in reading and writing, gained confidence in their abilities, and are developing a lifelong love for learning that will extend beyond the classroom. Way to go, Reading Power students!

Doing More In More Places

Reading Power is proud to announce the expansion of our program into two new school districts, Wheeling and Palatine, IL, for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year. Both districts have schools that meet our program selection criteria based on student reading intervention needs.

New Reading Power students will receive 120 minutes of weekly in-person tutoring in a dedicated Reading Power space. A caring adult's individualized, one-to-one attention is fundamental to Reading Power's tutoring model. Tutored students demonstrate growth towards grade-level benchmarks through accelerated learning and benefit from the social-emotional connection with their tutors.

Next Stop: Cook County, IL

This expansion will take Reading Power beyond Lake County and into Cook County, IL, allowing us to help more students reach grade-level literacy. Please help us get to know our new neighbors!
