Bible Reading Plan
We're finishing up 2 Kings this week, and I've found that it has recently gotten confusing again. It's hard to keep track of all the people and names (especially when some of them are so similar), places (especially when skipping back and forth between the northern and southern kingdoms, as well as referencing neighboring countries), and time frames (each king's reign is calculated in reference to the king of the other kingdom, and the narrative skips around regularly). Following are some resources I found that have helped me make sense of particularly puzzling portions of scripture:
1) There are two kings named Joash (aka Jehoash). One is king in Judah, and the other in Israel. Here is a helpful article that sorts out who is who - https://www.gotquestions.org/King-Joash.html
2) Jotham is listed as the son of Azariah (15:1-6), as well as son of Uzziah (15:32-35). Apparently Azariah and Uzziah are the same person - https://www.britannica.com/biography/Uzziah
3) 2 Kings 16:10-18 (re: King Ahaz switching out the altar and other furnishings of the temple) is particularly confusing. Here is a commentary that provides additional info about its significance - https://www.blueletterbible.org/.../2-k.../2-kings-16.cfm...
I hope these resources help as you finish out 2 Kings this week. A couple of catch-up days are built into our schedule next Monday and Tuesday, so if you're behind, just keep reading. If you haven't been following our Bible Reading Plan but would like to get started, just jump in at this point. We'll be starting 1 Chronicles next Wednesday. Click here for a copy of our schedule.
And for future reference, blueletterbible.org is a very helpful resource to dive deeper into scripture. It even offers a daily verse and devotional options. Click here for a brief overview of all its features.

Children's Worship Volunteers Needed
Every Sunday we need one teacher and one helper at each morning worship service to lead Children's Worship for Pre-K - 1st graders. This does NOT involve doing the children's sermon in the sanctuary; this opportunity involves teaching or assisting in Children's Worship on the second floor once children are dismissed from the sanctuary. Please click here to sign up, or contact Whitney if you have questions. Thank you!

Blessing Box Needs
The following items are most needed for the Blessing Box right now: any size/type of fruit (easy open tops are particularly helpful for our homeless friends), cereal, Pop Tarts, pancake mix, and any type of Chef Boyardee canned products (Spaghetti O's, ravioli, etc.) Donations can be dropped in the appropriate bin at the Missions Tables. Thank you!
