Celebrating Membership Milestones

Sunday, May 5th, we honored our members with 50+ years of Membership. The Sunday School children made beautiful homemade gifts to present to these pillars of our Church Family.

Thank you to all who helped us celebrate the day and a very heartfelt Thank You to our wonderful 50+ Year honorees!

C.C.P. presents...

On May 5th, in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, C.C.P. welcomed Korean performer Jung-Hee Oh and Dr. Ju-Yong Ha to our sanctuary to introduce Traditional Korean Music through performance and illumination. A wonderful and informative performance was enjoyed by all who attended. Thank you to all who joined us!

Invitation

Mary Oliver

Oh do you have time

     to linger

         for just a little while

            out of your busy

and very important day

     for the goldfinches

         that have gathered

            in a field of thistles

for a musical battle,

     to see who can sing

         the highest note,

            or the lowest,

or the most expressive of mirth,

     or the most tender?

         Their strong, blunt beaks

            drink the air

as they strive

     melodiously

         not for your sake

            and not for mine

and not for the sake of winning

but for sheer delight and gratitude—

         believe us, they say,

            it is a serious thing

just to be alive

     on this fresh morning

         in the broken world.

            I beg of you,

do not walk by

     without pausing

         to attend to this

            rather ridiculous performance.

It could mean something.

It could mean everything.

It could be what Rilke meant, when he wrote:

You must change your life.

Thank you for your continued support of this heartfelt mission.

Greetings!

Can you believe it's already May? With summer fast approaching, it's time for us to gear up for our 6-week Summer Sunday School Program, and we could really use your support!

This summer, we're planning to operate like a one-room schoolhouse, and I'll be curating engaging activity packets for each week. However, if you have a particular activity in mind that you'd like to prepare, we're more than happy to accommodate that as well—just give me a heads-up!

Now, here's where we need your help: we're looking for volunteers to lead sessions during this program. Below are the dates for which we need coverage:

  1. July 14th
  2. July 21st
  3. July 28th
  4. August 4th
  5. August 11th
  6. August 18th

Please take a moment to review the dates and let me know which week(s) you're available to cover. We aim to finalize the schedule by June 2nd, so your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to contribute!

Please feel free to email me at ngugleitta@mirion.com or call/text me with any questions….

Thank you!
