Teacher Appreciation & Faculty-Staff Lunches: Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who made our faculty and staff feel special during Teacher Appreciation Week! We are grateful to our entire school community for joining us in thanking them.


A special thank-you is also due to Mothers' Club and all the families who have provided us with faculty-staff lunches throughout the year. They are a special treat and wonderful opportunity for us to gather together.

Rock Show - Friday, May 10 (Tonight!)

Get ready to rock! Join us for an unforgettable performance by the SFHS Rock Band at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center. Admission is free! Poster by Shannon Walgren '24.

Device TURN-IN Important Information

Please note the following reminders about end-of-year device turn-in. Students received additional details via email.


ALL STUDENTS must turn in their school-issued Surface Pro as soon as they are finished with finals.


  • SENIORS: Device turn-in dates and times are:
  • After school on Friday, May 10
  • Before and after exams Monday, May 13, through Wednesday, May 15 


  • JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, and FRESHMEN: Device turn-in dates are:
  • Before and after exams Monday, May 20, through Thursday, May 23


To prepare for device return, students are expected to:

  • Bring their charger to school the day they are turning in their device. This is the most forgotten item every year.
  • Turn in the Surface Pro, the Type Cover keyboard, school-issued charger, school-issued pen/stylus, case, and sleeve.

 

On the check-in form, students will acknowledge they have properly saved and synced any files they wish to keep to their OneDrive account (any files not properly saved and synced are lost).


  • SPECIAL NOTE FOR SENIORS: After Friday, May 31, graduating seniors will lose access to their school-issued Microsoft 365 account – including email, OneDrive, and OneNote notebooks.


Device PICK-UP Important Information

Finalized device pick-up information for returning students is communicated in future emails. Tentatively, all pickups are Tuesdays through Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the following dates, according to graduating year:

  • Class of 2025: Beginning Tuesday, June 18
  • Class of 2026: Beginning Tuesday, June 25
  • Class of 2027: Beginning Tuesday, July 9

 

SPECIAL NOTE for the Class of 2028: Pick-up occurs during the Spartan Tech Entry Program (STEP) camp – see https://sfhs.8to18.com/ for details.

Final Assessments Reminders

Senior final assessments begin this upcoming Monday, May 13, and all freshman, sophomore, and junior final assessments begin Monday, May 20. The senior and underclass final assessment schedules are in mySFHS within the Resource Board in the Newsroom tile. 

 

Seniors who meet the requirements for exemption are notified by their teacher and will not attend school during that specific assessment time block. Seniors assigned a project-based final assessment should attend school as directed by their teachers.  

 

All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are required to take their written final assessments at their assigned time. Attendance for all written final assessments is mandatory. Students assigned a project-based final assessment should attend school as directed by their teachers.  

 

Study halls are not in session during exam weeks. Please encourage your child to organize their notes, develop a study schedule, and check with their teachers about any additional tutoring sessions.

 

Please note: The Student-Parent Portal is deactivated beginning with the first underclass assessment on Monday, May 20, and reactivated on Thursday, May 30. 

Painted Senior Parking Spots

Take part in a Spartan tradition - buy a painted parking spot for your rising senior! If you missed your opportunity to purchase a painted parking spot during the Ensuring Our Future Auction, now is your chance! The cost is $250 and the deadline to purchase is Friday, May 10.


Student designs must be approved by the Dean of Students before Monday, July 15. Students must supply the materials. The Dean will contact families when painting days are scheduled in the summer.

Class of 2024 Information

Class of 2024: Please save the dates for the following experiences. More information is in mySFHS within the Resource Board in the Class of 2024 tile.

  • Senior-Faculty Dinner: 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, Naperville Country Club. Ticket information is now posted in mySFHS.
  • Graduation Liturgy and Commencement: Sunday, May 19

2024-25 School Year Mothers' Club Volunteer Sign Up:  All moms of current students are automatically a member of the Mothers' Club and welcome at monthly meetings and events! Volunteering is a great way to get involved, make friends and support our students, faculty, and staff. There are opportunities for everyone! Uniform Collection: If you are doing spring cleaning, please consider donating any and all NEW style uniform pieces from Dennis Uniform (pants, shorts, skirts, polos, quarter zips, gym uniforms) or spirit wear that does not have a date. Once enough uniforms are collected, a uniform resale is scheduled, and proceeds go to a scholarship fund.


AP Testing: Monday, May 6-Friday, May 17. The dates, times, and locations of all AP Tests, lunch information, and other important reminders are linked here.
