Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) has been a valuable resource to LCMS churches and schools over the years, providing financial support for new church buildings, schools and operations. In fact, St. John’s currently has a loan and line of credit with LCEF and we are grateful for their financial support.

To provide this financial support to congregations, LCEF is raising funds by offering investment opportunities:

  • Church Worker Steward Account at 3%
  • 6-month term note at 4.5%
  • 18-month term note at 5.0%

The ideal LCEF investor is anyone who wants to earn a competitive interest rate while supporting LCMS churches, schools and organizations.

Look for the flyers/bulletins at the Information Desk at the back of the church. If you have any questions, please call LCEF at 800-843-5233, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CST).

Day of the Christian Martyr

According to church tradition, June 29 marks the   martyrdom of the apostle Paul. This month join Christians around the world to honor the faithful witness of those who, like Paul, have sacrificed their lives for the advancement of the gospel, and be inspired to have that same boldness to share Christ in our community.

CHURCH OPPORTUNITIES

Stewardship Thought :

Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

~Luke 12:48B

One definition of Christian Stewardship is “the free and joyous activity of God’s family — the church — in managing life’s resources for His purposes.” The Board of Stewardship looks forward to providing St. John’s Congregation with education and ideas on managing best what God has entrusted to us to thank Him for His lavish gifts. As you listen to Sunday’s sermon and comments on Stewardship, we hope you move forward on your journey of personal Stewardship, whether that means taking the first steps or continuing a lifelong journey.

Volunteers needed for Sunday mornings! Please sign up to bring treats and serve coffee.

Do you enjoy fresh flowers? Each week the altar is beautified with fresh flowers given by individuals of St. John’s congregation. Flowers may be given in memory or in honor of someone or some occasion, in thanksgiving of something or to the Glory of God. The flowers may be taken home after the Sunday

services for you to enjoy at home or perhaps share with a loved one or someone you wish to share an invitation to worship at St. John’s. The Flower Chart for 2024 is posted in the narthex on the left brick pillar as you walk into the sanctuary.   Flowers are $55 for two arrangements. If you wish to sign up for a particular Sunday and someone else has already signed up, we invite you to sign up in addition to another person giving flowers – you can split the $55 cost with the person signed up or purchase an additional two arrangements for $55. Multiple floral arrangements to beautify the altar are always welcome! A member of the Altar Guild will contact you in advance for your dedication.

Please let us know if you can help!
