February 15th, 2024

Dear SFX Community,

This week we began our Lenten journey with a beautiful Ash Wednesday Mass. Our students have already shown tremendous commitment to reflect on both what they can do more of, and what they can give up during the next forty days.

Remember that our 2024 Auction is just a little more than a week away. Our auction chairs are hard at work preparing for what is going to be a great night for our community. We can't wait to see you all on February 24.

Have a safe Presidents' Day weekend and enjoy the extended break. We look forward to seeing you back on campus Tuesday morning.

Peace,

Ryan Watson

Lenten Resources

Lent began this week on Ash Wednesday and will last until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Please see below for information and resources on how we will live out the three Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

Prayer: Join us for Mass, Reconciliation, Adoration, the Novena of Grace, Parish Penance Service and the Living Stations of the Cross (see our calendar for dates and times).

Fasting: Fasting reminds us that Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and links us spiritually to the poor. During Lent we look at ways to simplify our lives to bring us closer to God.

Almsgiving: Participate in the Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) Rice Bowl program. CRS Rice Bowl funds serve those in need globally and here is our Diocese. Students will place their Rice Bowl at the foot of the cross before Pledge and Prayer on Wednesday March 27th.
