68th Viennese Opera Ball
May 10th, 2024
The Viennese Opera Ball supports charitable projects connected to communities
in New York or Vienna. Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research raises funds to benefit the music therapy program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research
In 1996, Grammy-nominated songwriter and philanthropist, Denise Rich, lived every parent’s worst fear as one of her three daughters, a beautiful 27-year-old actress and Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor named Gabrielle, succumbed to acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Gabrielle lost her battle, but her dream lives on in the work of the organization created in her memory, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. It was Gabrielle’s idea to create a Foundation that would fund the best and brightest scientific investigators in the nation with the hope that less toxic treatments, and ultimately a cure, might be discovered. Her mother and sisters, Daniella and Ilona, believed the best way to honor Gabrielle’s memory was to turn their extraordinary grief into a positive force for others.

Gardeners' Fair—English Folly:
An Evening in the Garden
Old Westbury Gardens enthusiastically invites you to celebrate the glorious Spring season on Saturday, May 18th with a festive Gardeners' Fair benefit party chaired by Anne Byers. We are proud to honor Tom Samet noted Long Island interior designer who specializes in adapting traditional design styles such as the American County House to meet the needs of today's families. This year's magical theme "A Special Time" is a celebration of the classics as we honor the 60th Anniversary of the grand opening of Old Westbury Gardens. In the Spring of 1959 the Gardens opened its gates to welcome visitors and thus Peggie Phipps Boegner plan to create a public garden in her mother's honor came to fruition. For 27 years, this lively Gardeners' Fair event has highlighted the mission of Old Westbury Gardens, the ongoing preservation of this treasure in the Long Island community.

We are dedicated to eliminating the ultimate in infant abuse, abandonment;
through education, prevention, direct assistance, and grassroots community involvement.
A Safe Haven for Newborns offers expectant mothers the support they need by offering them the resources to make informed decisions. Decisions that are in the best interest of themselves and their unborn child. A Safe Haven for Newborns has partnered with various agencies in all 67 Florida counties to offer the resources needed. From a safe place to stay, prenatal care, counseling, parenting skills, baby-related necessities, and more. To date, 390 newborns have been given a chance at a future and over 6,000 girls/women have received assistance from Safe Haven. Please consider participating in our annual golf tournament and help us raise the funds we need to provide the services we offer to the expectant mother at no cost to her. After tournament expenses are met, all proceeds are used to fund the programs offered. With sincere appreciation, Nick Silverio, Founder
