Welcome to the latest edition of The Victory Voice where we celebrate the incredible impact and success that our students achieve at The Victory Center. This month, we're thrilled to share the exciting happenings taking place at our school for children and adults with autism and related disabilities.

Community-based field trips help to generalize our students’ life skills. They learn how to take a public bus, purchase food at different places and so much more!

Arts and crafts play an essential role in our students' development allowing them to see their triumphs.

We are gearing up for another fantastic school year with generous gifts from our loyal donors by:

  • Sustaining staffing levels that preserve our required student-to-teacher ratios
  • Expanding our community-based learning initiatives enabling enriched social interaction, particularly within our new Adult Program
  • Procuring sensory equipment crucial to our student's comprehensive development
  • Enabling us to provide additional scholarships so that more families can benefit from our transformative programs giving them the opportunity to favorably impact their child's future
  • Providing our educators with cutting edge training opportunities so that they remain at the forefront of new, specialized teaching methodologies to further benefit our students

Barry and Judi Nelson, the founders of The Victory Center, were honored at Achievement Day 2024. By establishing The Victory Center 25 years ago, they have made a difference to so many students and their families. Their vision for this school has come to life as it provides a home away from home for our special students. In honor of that vision, our staff strives for excellence in education and to be a safe place for all. We are so thankful for having such kind and generous visionaries.

In addition, Barry was honored this spring at Binghamton University Alumni Association with the esteemed Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award for Public Service or Contribution to Public Affairs.
