Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Diversity | August 2024

Welcome Back!

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year! Along with several university leaders and faculty, I had the pleasure of welcoming 70 new Danforth Campus faculty to WashU during New Faculty Orientation this Tuesday. It was wonderful to meet so many talented and energetic new faculty. Welcome again to WashU!

I also want to welcome several new Faculty Fellows to our team. Nic Koziolek (A&S) has joined us as the new Teaching, Research and Practice Faculty Fellow, and Janelle Gibson (Brown) is our new Faculty Leadership Development Fellow. In addition, three new Faculty Coaching Fellows are now part of the VPFAD team: Amy Gais (A&S), Sunghei Han (Brown), and Rebecca Lester (A&S). Our Coaching Fellows will begin offering coaching to faculty this coming spring. I look forward to working with this wonderful group to enhance development and support for our faculty.

There are many great opportunities available to faculty this fall. I would like to highlight our Spring 2025 Faculty Transformational Leadership Institute (FTLI), in particular. This high-impact leadership development program is open to all tenured faculty and mid-career or senior teaching, research and practice faculty on the Danforth campus. The application deadline is September 30 and more details may be found below. Additional opportunities and resources, including resources for faculty searches are available on our website.

Wishing you a great start to the semester.
