It’s been one year since we relaunched our company newsletter—how time literally flies. It’s also been one year and three months since I assumed my role as CEO. It seems as if it was just a few months ago. I remember the excitement I felt, but also the anxiety of assuming the ultimate responsibility for Stewart Richey. That anxiety has eased as I realize now, more than ever, the great team we have here at Stewart Richey. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate each of you for the responsibility you assume in our company. I say this often: it takes all of us to be our best and to continue moving our company forward. After all, it is our company, as each of us is an employee-owner.

Safety Snapshot: Sun Exposure
As a profession that primarily works outside, we spend long hours outdoors exposed to the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. This puts us at a significantly higher risk for developing skin cancer compared to other professions. In fact, studies show construction workers are two to three times more likely to develop skin cancer than the general population.
The dangers cannot be overstated. Unprotected UV exposure causes damage that accumulates over time, leading to skin cancers like melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. Melanoma is the most serious form and can be life-threatening if not detected and treated early. Non-melanoma skin cancers may be less deadly but can still require disfiguring surgeries.

Project Spotlight: Commercial Specialty Truck Holdings
This year, Stewart Richey has reached a significant milestone by securing the largest single contract to date. This achievement was made possible through a collaboration with developers Kent Kelley and David Carver, with which we have a long-standing relationship, General Manager of our General Contracting Group, Scott Holt, as well as our entire General Contracting team. Scott has overseen the project from conception, ensuring seamless communication among all stakeholders and thorough alignment of schedules. Stewart Richey takes great pride in the diverse range of trades that constitute our company. Scott has coordinated the integration of six of the Contracting Group trades to support this project. These trades include Site Utilities, Concrete, Metal Building Systems, Structural Steel, Painting, and Electrical. Scott feels a sense of pride in his involvement with securing a significant contract that provides the Contracting Group with a substantial amount of work for the company.
