Hello Julie,
For this issue, we're going all in on sustainability. And, really, isn’t it about time the entire planet went all in on sustainability?
We’re proud of our work with many client partners who have placed preserving and protecting our planet at the core of their missions. Below, we've shared how we’re helping tell their stories and advancing more sustainable ways of living and doing business from tourism and dining to driving.
We’ve also shared a recap of the first event in our Next 25 series on the future of sustainability and storytelling. We had a great session on March 28 with four thoughtful, smart leaders in tourism and travel. Watch now or read our recap below.
You can register now for news on our next session on new storytelling technologies from AI like ChatGPT to the Metaverse. In the meantime, let’s all keep the conversation going and strive imperfectly together toward a brighter, more sustainable future for all!
Cheers,
Julie Wright

WOC OUT AND ABOUT
DISTRIBUTECH 2023
| |
DistribuTECH 2023, held in San Diego this year, is the utility industry's leading annual transmission and distribution conference, and we were there to learn from and engage with North America’s utility and energy leaders. This year’s show also featured cleantech client partner, Nuvve, speaking on a panel we curated to highlight their partnership with SDG&E and several local school districts like Cajon Valley Unified to electrify their school bus fleets.
“The energy at DTECH this year was palpable, and it was rewarding to meet new and like-minded executives who are all working toward an energy-independent future,” said Cumpston. “Many of the ideas and solutions being brought to the table are game-changing, including Nuvve’s innovative vehicle-to-grid software platform, so we’re excited for the many possibilities that will soon become reality.”

VISIT CALIFORNIA OUTLOOK FORUM 2023
Our AVP Terry Whitaker recently attended one of California’s biggest travel and tourism industry events, the Visit California’s Outlook Forum 2023 in Sacramento. Over 1,000 attendees representing C-suite, business owners and emerging leaders from every segment of the industry and destinations throughout the state were in attendance.
“This year’s Outlook Forum was a great chance to connect with our clients and industry peers to talk shop, share ideas and stay abreast of the latest trends, challenges and opportunities for California’s travel industry and how they impact our clients. Two of the big themes of this year’s event – sustainable tourism and Native tourism - are of particular importance to clients like Mesa Grande and Visit Napa Valley and we are excited to be able to incorporate some great insights and learnings from the event to better serve our clients," said Whitaker.

(W)RIGHT ON'S FAVORITE AZTEC, EMMA SIDELL, SET TO GRADUATE
Speaking of Emma Sidell, after nine months in her part-time, paid role with (W)right On, we’re excited to share that she’ll soon be graduating from SDSU’s School of Journalism and Media Studies.
During March Madness, Emma was one of 300 SDSU students selected to fly to Houston and cheer on the SDSU men’s basketball team in their epic Final Four run. It's an experience she says she’ll never forget:
“The experience was absolutely exhilarating! As a senior and former SDSU cheerleader, it was so amazing to see our boys live in action at the NRG stadium in Houston, as well as experience the energy of the over 72,000 fans. This experience really brought together all past, present and future Aztecs, as well as the city of San Diego. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget!”
